The ﬁrst Inﬂyte release of 2014 and guess what....it's another great release from a Dutch producer. Patch Park ﬁrst cropped up on our radar with an amazing bootleg of Dave Clarke 'Red 2' a few years back and we've been huge fans of his releases on Monique Music, Elevate and his own label Fone Audio where he often appears under the On/Off moniker. Three pretty deep and twisted tracks on this one; heads-down no-nonsense business with plenty of groove to keep things moving.!

MCSL021 - Spooky - Polymorph (Psycatron & Petar Dundov Remixes) Beatport Exclusive October 11th 2011

The 21st release on microCastle sees the return of legendary electronic music act Spooky to the label for their mammoth 'Polymorph' single. There are very few groups who can claim to be true pioneers; Spooky, however, are. Be it their auspicious debut album ‘Gargantuan' on William Orbit's Guerilla, touring with Aphex Twin, remixing Sven Vath or producing the ‘Involver' projects alongside Sasha , Duncan Forbes and Charlie May have been at the forefront of electronic music their entire careers. Their remix of Monaque's 'Resolutions' from July of 2010 was one of microCastle's most successful releases to date. It saw heavy play from John Digweed and Hernan Cattaneo while enjoying an almost 6 week run in the Beatport charts.

Charlie and Duncan's futuristic sound design is on top form here yet again with 'Polymorph' which is perhaps Spooky's most colossal creation to date. A well textured bassline with a grainy pulse sits at the track's foundation. Angelically styled synths and an electric flow of driving energy build tension throughout as we approach the heart of the composition. The harmonic refrains and shimmering synths create a hazy wall of melodic sound that once again pushes today's sonic boundaries to the max. As the tension continues to build and the gargantuan sweeps intensify they eventually reveal a celestial finale that is emotionally moving and profoundly diatonic.

The Irish duo Psycatron famed for their productions on legendary techno imprints Planet E, Cocoon, Tresor, R&S and Tronic make their debut on microCastle and provide the first remix of 'Polymorph'. Psycatron have truly outdone themselves and overhauled the original in a genuinely inspiring fashion. Their 'Polymorph' interpretation is certainly one of the most sonically charged, melodic techno records of the year. The Irish duo's razor sharp lines, clever drops, keen dance floor sensibility and distinctively modern sound shine through wonderfully for what results in a twelve and a half minute epic for the ages. With support already in from John Digweed, Laurent Garnier and Christian Smith this one looks set to be one of Psycatron's most revered productions this year.

Petar Dundov makes intelligent electronic music that breaks boundaries, moves feet and twists minds. He is without a doubt one of the most inspiring, original and daring producers in electronica, and with the likes of Sven Väth, Laurent Garnier, Hernan Cattaeno and Guy J singing his praises it would be hard to disagree. Petar follows his outstanding remix of Patrice Baumel's 'Vapour' for Trouw and provides the second and final interpretation of 'Polymorph'. Petar's subterranean groove is unmistakable and as profound as ever here, it's both unbelievably contagious and bursting with bubbly lava like textures. As the piece builds the uniquely interwoven lead melodies tease the senses mightily and the additional bass stabs enhance the groove even further. A dark drop with some sinister sound design sets the stage for a spine tingling, dulcet finale that is completely exhilarating.

Its already been a whirlwind start for Inflyte, as the remixes of Psycatron & Detroit Grand Pubah's "NVRSAYNVR" have rapidly romped up the sales charts. The reworks from Dustin Zahn and Unsubscribe (Dave Clarke & Mr Jones) have drawn impressive praise and already established the Irish label as one to watch. A tag further strengthened when you consider the artists already lined up on future releases; Secret Cinema, Francesco Tristano, Claude Young, Patch Park, Locked GROOVE, Nuno Dos Santos and more.
For Inflyte's latest instalment Paul & Dave look to an artist and friend, who has enjoyed their support from day one, Ian O'Donovan. Having first discovered the Irishman via a tweet by Laurent Garnier, and with Paul being the first Radio DJ to support his music on air, on his Across The Line show, a strong friendship was formed and further strengthened by playing many gigs together.
Ian's impressive range of styles and sound has enabled him to release his work on an equally wide spread of labels. His deeper strains can be heard on releases for Wolfskuil and Komplex de Deep, whilst his tougher and often epic productions have featured on labels such as Bedrock and Bio. His debut double-header for Inflyte sits firmly in the latter camp as "Ascension" and "Energy Wave" combine 'Detroit' synths and strings with imperious keys and bombastic baselines.
Fresh from celebrating the launch of his and Ben Sims' 'Machine' imprint, UK techno don Kirk Degiorgio takes time out to deliver yet another remix masterclass, with his rework of "Ascension." Berlin:Detroit - a musical alliance that resonates deeply with electronic music lovers around the world and has done for the past two decades. Add Belfast to this equation and you have Irish duo Psycatron who have dropped releases on both sides of the Atlantic through Carl Craig's Planet E Communications from Detroit, as well as Berlins' Tresor imprint, while also finding time for the odd excursion on the likes of Scuba's Hotflush Recordings, R&S Records, Cocoon and their own upcoming Inflyte Records, which alongside being a home for their own output, is set to feature material from the likes of Francesco Tristano, Dave Clarke and Kirk Degiorgio in it's opening year.
Their touring schedule has followed a similar global trajectory, touching down everywhere from Fabric to Berghain, The Rex Club and Barracca, to Movement Festival in Detroit, I Love Techno in Belgium and many more of the best clubs and festivals worldwide. In between tours they continue their long-standing residency at Ireland's longest-running techno institution, Shine in Belfast.
With musical influences ranging from Depeche Mode and Kraftwerk to Underground Resistance and Jean Michel Jarre, it's easy to see where the raw emotion, tension and energy prevalent in their music stems from. Being born less than 12 hours apart and subsequently growing up hitting the same techno parties in Belfast, is another common bond that has helped shape the Psycatron sound, where the past clearly influences the future but has an entirely different slant on it.
Touring with Carl Craig and Planet E, ending up on Fact Magazines Top 50 Tracks of the year and performing on London's infamous Boiler Room TV are some of the recent highlights of this duos career who among their fan count you'll find the likes Depeche Mode's Martin L Gore, Francois K and Dave Clarke.
