From the live houses of the Jing to busking in tunnels (Granted, the 33.3% donation rate was based on the fact that he had removed his stifling white collar shirt and was dancing bare chested) in Singapore, Psychedelic Revolution (aka Psyche Rev) is a one man project that likes most things such as alt r&b and alt rock. Made it as a semi finalist in the 'Song of the Year' competition in 2022 with his song 'Cassius' and a finalist in 2023 with his song 'We'll Go Down'. Tastes like Kung Pao Chicken. Looks like a cross between Brag Pitt and Heath Leather. Smells like team spirit. Feels like baby powder. Oh the music. Yeah, it sounds good.

Chapter IV of V: The Boys

Mission is to get to the final quote in Quantum of Solace.

*Gets phone call from 006*
“My bother called from prison. So I sent him some money.”
“That’s nice of you.”
“My wife and I got into an argument. It’s a long story. You got time?”
“Yes.”
“When I went back to Africa I met this girl. You know I don’t usually like black girls right? You wanna see the pic?”
“I do.”
*sends pic*
“Shit man. She’s pretty.”
“Well she came over to visit and we went to a bar and I pulled out the chair for her first and my wife got angry.”
“That’s on her. You’re just being the host.”
“Your family like your wife? “
“Well my mother thinks I should be with Chantel (Starlight). We wouldn’t argue. But I think she should be with you.” -006
“I was into her in grade 8. Her face just isn’t my thing anymore.”
Starlight is the daughter of a pop star that your parents probably like. Her dad sells out Worker’s Stadium. I liked her in grade 8. She rejected me. When she asked me out I rejected her cos’ I had a fever and ate a slightly bad apple. Now, 006 (The Deep) put his dick on her face in grade 8 when she was asleep. She woke up and cried. Now, other people would have sued or told the teachers but that’s what makes her Starlight. Then they became best friends cos’ like me, there is a bit more to 006 than picking up women.

Lazy Eye: We are going to move offices soon.
I developed a liking for a girl in another company. Untitled. She had long dyed hair that was blonde or red and usually wore a t shirt and shorts. Sometimes she wore a dress. She would be downstairs smoking with her friends, The vicious big guy with the Ride the Lightning t shirt. He’d stare at me sometimes and I was wearing my AC/DC shirt.  Due to the office moving, I approached her in the cafeteria one day, “do you wanna go out for coffee sometime?” “No. Not really.” Followed by a cold look. I thought it was the end of that.
“It’s OK m’lord. It was just my heart. The Lord saw fit to grace me with a spare.”

I walked out of the elevator into the building lobby with graduate no.2 and there is vicious looking guy laying it on to untitled girl. 
“不是他配不上你。是你配不上他。“”It’s not that he’s not good enough for you. It’s that you’re not good enough for him.”

From Bon Scott to James Hetfield. Much love. So over the next few weeks all her nerdy looking friends would tease her about me and she would say, “太帅了” （too handsome). Her friends began egging her on to make her move. Make her move she did.

She entered the elevator one day. She followed me to my smoke spot. Then, she went up to me and flicked her hair…
It was a bad effort so I probably raised my eyebrows. Since, I had the courage to talk to her that was…just sad. That was the last time we interacted.

Belle and I would wave hands at each other from time to time. She would go downstairs to smoke too.

On the way to work a call from 006:
“So Chantel was telling me how bad she feels about her dad buying insurance.”
“What’s wrong with that?”
“I think she should just shut the fuck up and take the money. Enjoy it.”
That’s what makes Starlight Starlight. Her ability to feel guilt at things she doesn’t think she deserves. 

Our new recruit Bill arrived. A Chinese Canadian who was good at both languages and he was cool. Chains on his pants. 
It was time to move at last after 6 months at the old spot and my boss accidentally fell on his ass when he was helping a girl dismantle her computer. Dongbei girl and graduate 1 began laughing their asses off. I didn’t laugh cos’ he’s always treated me well. Don’t know if I would laugh if he did.  Dongbei girl left 2 months later. She gave a very quick hand wave. 

Q, Topher and I went out to celebrate us moving offices.
Q: “You know my girlfriend is always accusing me of 大男子主义。(patriarchy)
“I think she just accuses you of that whenever she doesn’t get her way.”

So after we moved to the new spot. Was in the bathroom one day and Q was coughing.
“I’m going to the airport at lunch to check if my girlfriends visa works in Holland.”
“Why doesn’t she go herself?”
“Well she said I was bad at talking to people but she’s also bad.”
So Q goes to the airport while he is sick for lunch break and gets it done. 

*While we’re testing the good new Naruto game*
“How did you beat Itachi?”-Q
“Hit him with a long ranged attack. While it reloads run from him. Hit and run basically. They did one of my fave characters dirty.”
“Thanks.”
From then on Q got ahead of me in the game and I would be his partner in in game duals. 

One day they announce the arrival of BY, a woman in her 40’s that MH hires. 
“She speaks 4 languages.” She moderates all of our translated work.
Q: BY is being really nice to us. Buying us Starbucks. She’s pretty good looking too.
“Yeah she reminds me of my ex. Just not as good looking. The thin lips and flat nose and delicate voice.” 
Now I’m just waiting for…the mask to fall.
In an elevator one day.
“You know you could dress better.”-BY
Was hoping it wouldn’t be someone like you but it sure is…Except my ex wore a lot of Zara and looked good whereas BY dresses like a character out of a Twilight movie. My ex said the same thing.
“We’re going to fire True Love”-BY
I’s unprofessional to tell me this.
So True Love was fired and he smiled and told us all he was quitting.

The legendary Johnny English was admitted. He was a Chinese Canadian graduate from UBC who had experience working in games before. A philosophy major.
“You like Rousseau, Nietzsche , Kant?”
“Kant’s a bit too complex.”-Johnny
Johnny English was pretty much hired to replace or improve upon me. So he joined the Bleach team and I was sent to help the One Punch Man team. 
In the group chat.
“这是啥？“-Johnny English to his bosses Lazy Eye and Square Face “What is this?”
“It’s this.” Shows him B.
“这是啥？“Johnny English asking about B.
Now in Chinese, it’s a bit rude to talk like that so he should have used 请问 which would be more like, “may I please ask”。Or, he could have just looked the things up.
So I walk downstairs and there’s Lazy Eye and Square Face smoking.
Square Face: Johnny English is a SB. (Dumb cunt)

The Bleach game was a financial success and we all went out to dinner.
On the taxi there with Johnny English, graduate 1, and Bill in the same car.
Johnny English: “You know Chris, if you didn’t smoke so much you could have a Ferrari.”
“So, why don’t you have a Ferrari then?”
*car bursts out in laughter at Johnny*
“Oh but I do! Gotcha!” He says this in a sing songy voice. 
No one laughs and it gets awkward. 

We go to a nice Chinese restaurant where Johnny attempts to either hit on or talk to graduates 1 and 2.
“如果你男朋友和妈掉进海里你先救谁” (if your bf and mother fall into the sea. Who do you save first?”
“这是个愚蠢的问题。“ (This is a dumb question) from graduate 1
“你们觉得谁更好？我还是Chris？”who’s better， me or Chris？“
I have my hands planted firmly on my forehead dying from second hand embarrassment. 
 I say, “都好。“
Graduate 2 smiles and looks at me and says, “都好。“

I would pay to have a camera following Johnny English around as he attempts to talk to girls. 

At a meeting with the projector and the laptop.
“Let her type the terms”-MH
Hinata steps up to bat. She’s nervous. So nervous that after a few minutes she gives up and bangs her head purposely down on the keyboard.
“就这。还叫学过英语。“ (“You call this having learnt English?”-MH
“还是Chris好。”- BY
I roll my eyes and sigh audibly.
If it ain’t the Homelander Storefront combo. She may speak 4 languages but human decency ain’t one of them. 
I type fast so they usually have me do the typing.

After the meeting is over when everyone has left I approach Hinata at the elevator door. 
*pats back*
“Don’t worry about that asshole. You did good.”
Followed by the worlds weakest smile and a 
“Thank you.”
One day you will meet your Naruto. 

I arrange a hang out at The Great Leap Brewery at 春秀路。Q and Bill both want to come. 
“Belle is coming” Bill tells me. 

On a Saturday, BY explodes at me on the group chat with 100 people.
We have a meeting with MH and BY.
“You think it’s OK that she can do this in a group chat?”
“Yeah, she’s your boss.” You got to add “she can do whatever she wants.”
So this is where I get to display my fine acting skills.
“We’re giving you one last chance.”
“Thank you for the opportunity.”-me with utmost sincerity

I leave the meeting room and take my sketch pad. 
Send a msg to HR.
*sends msg to fellow co workers*
“It’s been an honor to work alongside you all.”-300 reference. 
Go outside where I meet a team leader of the Naruto team.
“这不对呀。她应该把你领进一个小屋子里跟你说。“(This isn’t right, she should have taken you into a small room to talk about it)
“Thank you.”
I also download the files and take screenshots of the upcoming OPM game.

006: *laughing*有时候你是真没办法。（Sometimes you can’t do anything about it)

“Well I have the files for the next game. I could leak them.”
Another friend: “Want me to help you fuck them up?”
“It’s OK man.”
I think leaking the files would have been too much so I don’t do it.

The next day, while my resignation is made official. Lazy Eye and I have one last talk.
“You’ll be pleased to know that MH and BY got told off by the leader.”
*nods head* 

My Small Legacy:
A few weeks later:
Q: “BY’s a lot nicer to us now.”
“Yeah be careful man.”

So Q, Bill and Belle showed up at Great Leap Brewery.
Belle was the last to show up and she greeted everyone but me.  Interesting.
“Topher asked me out twice”
“Oh? Why don’t you go out him then?”
“I asked around. He has a bad reputation.”
I can respect that. She has standards. 
I brought up Yi Lee and his girlfriend.
“That guy has a girlfriend?! He spends his afternoons looking up our skirts. I complained and he was moved further away from his desk.”
So for some reason we start talking about other things.
“I like getting peed on.”-Belle
What I am impressed by here is Q’s lack of any tell when he’s talking to his dream girl.

Q and I move away to talk.
“She’s perfect!” Q exclaims.
I nod.
Yeah…if perfect means ignoring the red flag the size of the Soviet Union in front of your face. It’s not a Chinese thing. She’s gone abroad to the UK to study. Not a British thing to tell people your sexual kink in the first conversation you’ve had with them.

“My birthdays on Christmas”-Belle
“So is mine.”
“Oh really? What a coincidence!”

Then, as if by intuition Q got a text from his gf Yoko that she was coming. Oh no. She was furious at him.
So he panicked when she was close and I told him to relax. 
Yoko showed up and didn’t talk to anyone. So I made a point of making small talk with her.
We went to hot pot and Belle made it a point to cook half cooked meat. She also said ‘thank you’ to the waiters which gave her bonus points in my book. Still doesn’t negate the red flag though. 
Then, Yoko took Q aside and began shouting at him. As far as white guy and Chinese girl relationships go, this one ain’t the best.

“Man, Q is whipped.-Bill
“Yup, you catch on quick.”

So Q and Yoko departed in a taxi. Bill, Belle and I went to a bar. 
“I’m bi.”- Bill
“Cool.”
After the 3rd time of hearing it it did get tiring. 

“My birthdays next month. Wanna come?”
“Sure.”

On the phone with 006:
*sends me pic after pic of women*
“You slept with her?”
“Yeah”
There were 30 women.

A few weeks later.
“Man my wife went through my phone and saw our texts.”
“That sucks”
“I had to get on my knees and beg her to forgive me.”

30 women. Could almost be 0006. Married though. Back to 006. Begging? Should have his license revoked. This does tie into the final chapter so you can copy paste it.




So glad ‘Under Your Spell’ is now my top rated song :)

I will be leaving this city for good sometime later this year or early next year. Moving to Malaysia :)
Josh Lee came to visit and we went to Peco Peco. An An/Mitzuru (the two owners) are friends of our middle school friend and they are both tough/kind/smart entrepreneurs making a profit. An An won an award for mixing and she serves these great cocktails. Just ask for the house special and say you know Chris. 

There could be very good/unexpected news for everyone in April/May.
