The ‘Flawless’ LP showcases Electrosoul System’s innovative style - an album reinvigorating drum & bass experimenting with raw industrialised sounds and futuristic twists. With an abundance of originality, ‘Flawless’ demonstrates the refined skill of one of Russia’s most exciting musical talents.

Journeying through an eclectic set of tracks from the deep jungle trek of ‘Time Traveller’ to the hypnotic warehouse wanderings of ‘Shadows’, tempting the ear with the all-alluring vocals of Deeizm. Title track, ‘Flawless’ takes a trip through a daydream state, following through with the funk fusions of ‘Past-Time Cruiser’ before dropping into ‘Harder Than Sox’ for some relentless percussive pull-ins.

Having begun producing from the mere age of fourteen, its unsurprising Electrosoul System has already had a successful string of releases on a number of well established drum & bass imprints, alongside running his own label KOS.MOS.MUSIC.

Also remembered for his prominent appearance in Hospital Record’s ‘The Future Sound of Russia’ compilation back in 2009, whilst fast-forwarding to 2015 Electrosoul System featured on Sunchase’s “Thing” – a firm favourite from the stunning ‘The Truth’ EP.

Impressing once more with this fine contribution to the Med School catalogue, ‘Flawless’ is set to excite the ears and open the eyes of Med School and KOS.MOS fans alike.

Alix Perez is back with a new label of his own in the form of the 1985 imprint. Taken from the labels debut EP Elephant Dreams, i-D are very pleased to share one of the more warmer cuts from the EP in the form of Had I Known. Trademark Perez grooves, deep bass and smooth vocals have got this one on repeat for us. Vibes.

A dreamteam collaboration to start off Critical’s 2012 season from the hugely lauded Sabre, who returns after a long break since his astonishing debut album of 2010, Stray and Halogenix. The perfect antidote to soothe us out of those January blues, simply gorgeous. ‘Oblique’ kicks off with a delicate but tough break that cuts through the mix as gentle pads wash over the soundscape to a breakdown that oozes class and a deft touch. Smooth keys then drop, light strings and the arrival of a deep soul vocal that carries us through into a midst of aural ear-pleasing. Subtle to the end this is a serious piece of music; reach for your headphones and drift away.
