this morbid emptiness

the heart can't help but break
at self abandonment so profound 
its only logical conclusion
is to jump to death

that heartbreak feels a lot like love
you wish you could hug them
tell them they were worth fighting for 
worth living for 
weirdly vulnerable thought
they'd probably laugh in your face
except jokes on them 
they're not around to mock anyone anymore 
so you win this hypothetical non-confrontation by default 
the opponent threw the fight 
before it ever got the chance to play out 
congratulations
