Skarob is a collision of bass music and dub reggae from the duo of veteran Brooklyn rasta Doctah X and Eastern European expatriate Rekloos transplanted to the unlikely heartland of America. The project features a variety of collaborators and remixers including Dr. Israel, Subatomic Sound System, Abba Blade, and more, stacked with numerous selections packing dancefloor firepower for electronic DJs and reggae selectors as well as others for certified headphone head bobbing, from dancehall bangers to dubstep smashers to deep, rootical dub grooves to sunny, psychedelic, atmospheric journeys. Record by Skarob. Mixed and arranged by Rekloos in Columbus, Ohio. Mastered by Emch at Subatomic Sound in New York City. Both members of Skarob write and produce, but unlike many of today’s electronic production duos, Doctah X also performs vocals and guitar, drawing on his decades past history growing up in Kentucky as a blues guitarist, touring and recording with Cream’s Ginger Baker, playing with legends John Lee Hooker and Albert King, as well as work with The Last Poets’ Umar Bin Hussein.

Teníamos este podcast programado para mañana, pero hoy es un día especial y tenemos que celebrarlo con ¡MÚSICA!
Aparte de ser el día de la música también comienza el solsticio de verano, ¡una mezcla mágica! Así que para que lo comencéis de la mejor manera posible, os traemos esta sesión preparada por Chalart58, hecha con mucho cariño y plagada de producciones propias. Estamos ante uno de los maestros del Dub nivel nacional, el mayor referente sin duda alguna desde nuestra opinión personal. 

*CHALART58*

Chalart58 es un artista de dub barcelonés que lleva desde 2004 produciendo, llevando sus sonidos al directo con una mesa de 22 canales y diferentes efectos para mezclarlos.
El pasado 16 de marzo lanzó su último álbum “Geomètric Dub” con el sello del que es parte, La Panchita Records. "Geomètric Dub" es el resultado de años de búsqueda de Chalart58 en la técnica del
dub para expresar su día a día. “Geomètric Dub” representa su papel en la sociedad, una sociedad cuadrada y matemática como los bajos, las baterías y “Dub” por las raíces, por el alma, por lo que le evoca y le hace vibrar, como los vientos, las percusiones, las voces....
Este álbum se puede conseguir en formato Vinilo 12”, CD y digital a través de www.lapanchitarecords.com y en todas las plataformas digitales.
Su carrera como músico profesional se lanzó en 2001, como percusionista de Manu Chao & Radio Bemba, haciendo varias giras mundiales. Más tarde, fundó La Kinky Beat de la que fue el batería, donde hizo varias giras por Europa y Latinoamericano y grabó cuatro
discos, dos de ellos como productor, recibiendo el premio de la UFI al mejor disco de música urbana por “Karate Beat” (Kasba Music, 2008).
En 2007 fue cuando empezó a hacer los directos mezclando dub y sacó su primer disco en solitario, “Recording” (Kasba Music, 2007). Más tarde impulsó y promovió las Dub Jam Session en Barcelona, y sacó el EP “Dub from BCN” (Kasba Music, en 2010).
Su estudio La Panchita se inauguró en 2011, y de ahí surgió el sello discográfico La Panchita Records, que fundó en 2015 junto con profesionales del sector. En 2013 empezó el proyecto Kinky Dub Machine y también en 2013 se lanzó la Digital Dub Collection acompañado de varios artistas nacionales.
A finales de 2016 salió el álbum “Black is Beltza ASM Sessions”, elaborado con Fermin Muguruza, siendo parte del amplio proyecto del músico vasco en su residencia artística en Arts Santa Mònica.
En septiembre de 2017 después de una década compartiendo proyectos a nivel internacional junto a Matah ex vocalista de La Kinky Beat y varios años de investigación profesional e individual, sale a la luz el EP “Atomican Land” Matah feat Chalart58 en el sello La Panchita Records. Tres canciones originales de Matah y tres versiones Dub con la visión personal de Chalart58.
Chalart58 ha actuado en International Dub Gathering, Rototom Sunsplash, Geneva Dubquake, Al Rumbo, Nowa Reggae, Viñadub, LaGata Reggae, La Concha Reggae Vibes, Txapel Reggae, Ganja Time, PoveDub, Poble Nou Goes Reggae, Sunset Festival, Costa Brava Reggae Fest, Say It Loud. Actualmente trabaja con Manu Chao, Fermin Muguruza, Sr. Wilson, Green Valley, Adala, Alex Bass, Raggattack, Island Defenders, Greenlight Sound, Badalonians Sound entre otros.
