After 3 years of work, I'm excited to finally announce that Digital Dreamscape, my new 16-track multigenre album is finally coming out this month! By far my most important project to date, it showcases what I'm truly capable of in terms of music production, storytelling and much more.

This story begins with a character named Luna. They live in a world where violence is an hourly occurrence and no one cares about them. They don’t belong in this world, they have ambitions and hopes for their life, but that’s simply impossible here. Blaming humanity’s natural imperfection for this nonsensical apparent self-destruction, they’re begrudgingly forced to find ways to survive in this horrid climate, barely able to find a reason to keep going.

Lumi continues going deeper into the depths of the world, the CORE’s strong energy pulsing around the cave as watery sounds envelop the surroundings. The atmosphere is so rich and beautiful to look at that Lumi can’t help but sit back and look at things for a moment. She hasn’t had many chances to really take in the beauty of this world, so she savors it as she advances towards her destination.

After 3 years of work, I'm excited to finally announce that Digital Dreamscape, my new 16-track multigenre album is finally here! By far my most important project to date, it showcases what I'm truly capable of in terms of music production, storytelling and much more.

This track begins the final chapter of the album (which I’ve dubbed the CORE chapter), where we follow Lumi as she enters into the deepest parts of this digital universe with the goal of preventing the glitches from getting into the core and corrupting it, which could spell the end for the whole world. In the intro of the song, she explores this deep cavernous area, reaching a blocked off section where they're prevented from going in by a locked forcefield, but they decide to enter by force anyway, leading into the first drop where she runs a bruteforce hack to open the forcefield. She then manages to get through and dig deeper into this mystical-looking place.

In the midsection she finds herself walking through a precarious space, rather clearly never built to be traversed, as she has to climb and step on platforms, with some breaking off behind where they just stepped. Despite this, she remains determined and continues climbing through the crumbling cave leap by leap, eventually finding her flow in the second half of the final drop. Having made it into a much safer spot, she looks back at what she just cleared for a moment, feeling proud before turning back towards her one path forwards.

As Lumi escapes the spot she was just in, she makes a run through the alleys in the city, which has corruption slowly spreading to more and more spots, destroying everything in its path. Lumi manages to escape from its sights, however the city is still under attack, and she has to regain herself quickly to do something about it. By the end of the track, she manages to climb to a high point of the city, overseeing the corruption before gathering the courage to bring out a sword to fight her way to the other end of the city.

Once Lumi wakes up, she’s very quick to get up for more fun and adventure, taking a trip down to the main center of the city to see some big show. The catgirl takes over and starts doing some crazy instrumentation on top throughout the song, combining elements of jazz with heavy glitch hop basses for a sick electro swing fusion. The show becomes a huge hit, being televised all across the city! At the end, things get a little too silly, the cat starts walking all over the piano and then whoops! Ranipla gets crushed by a piano. How tragic. Anyways!

Digital Dreamscape is not a happy ending story, it’s a tragedy which speaks on how despite being created to hope for happiness and joy in our lives, the world we’re in seems to contradict that, no matter how much effort we put in. Humans are imperfect. We die and we suffer, sometimes completely because of reasons beyond our control. When we look around at others around us, it feels like some people (especially those higher up in systematic constructs) dedicate their existence to hate on other people, or to exploit them for their own benefit. All of this we learn to be natural, yet we agree that this isn’t how we want things to be. It’s natural for humans to want more, yet we’re limited by our bodies and minds. Especially when hindered by the corruption in the world, it’s hard not to feel hopeless when confronted with all of these ideas. Through the lens of this character, I wrote a story where someone is able to find their perfect world, live out who they want to be and find true happiness, but despite everything, it’s their humanity that causes that all to shatter and collapse in the end. When looking for anything or anyone to fault for why things went this way, or trying to find a reason why things went the way they did, they start to question if living out what they wanted was compatible with how they were created in the first place, because if to be perfect means to not be human, then what would be being confined to soulless living?

Oh yeah, it’s on. Atop the building where she stood, Lumi remembered the pirate ship she was on in the magic mirror’s visions, so with the corruption seemingly making its way to a distant dock, she decides to start running towards it, expecting to find the next part of her adventure there. As Lumi drops down to fight, she hears a taunting “welcome back” come from the corruption as a little skirmish begins. This track follows Lumi as she begins to confidently start fighting back against the corruption, making her way through to the other side of the city in one piece.
