Perc Trax is proud to present the second and final part of the Perc Trax vs Pole Group EP series. The first part of the series featured Reeko, Perc, Sawf and Christian Wünsch and for this second EP the two labels pool their talents again and serve up tracks from Oscar Mulero, Forward Strategy Group, Exium and Manni Dee. 

As expected the Perc Trax contingent of label regulars Forward Strategy Group and new Perc Trax artist; Brighton-based Manni Dee take the tougher, more direct route whilst the contributions from Oscar Mulero and Exium balance things perfectly, toying with broken beat rhythms whilst floating dubbed-out atmospherics over the top. 

Each track operates perfectly as a separate entity but together the four tracks unite to form a perfect cross-section of some of the more innovative yet still dancefloor relevant techno being made today. 

This is the last Perc Trax or Submit release before Perc's second album 'The Power & The Glory' is released on February 17th.

Steve Rachmad’s techno project STERAC has for many years been a seminal force in his native Netherlands and beyond. Releasing over 100 releases across the much feted Delsin, Klockworks, Mote-Evolver, Tresor and others, he’s become something of a cult figure, and dubbed a father of Detroit in The Netherlands for added points. It’s hard to imagine a more venerated artist and there’s good reason why, Rachmad’s fearless approach to production puts him a cut above many of his peers, often taking pure feeling and a collection of well worn machines as a starting point and trusting his gut along the path to finished product. For Bassiani Podcast 190, the Dutch master of techno delivers a thorough lesson in expert mixing. From orchestral strings to utilitarian bleeps, Rachmad’s sound bridges a gap no one else can. An ode to the motor city with a healthy measure of string composition thrown in, recorded live at the club during the Token X Reclaim Your City night on November 3rd.

Bio:
Takaaki was quickly impressed and intrigued by the new sound of Techno, that hit Japan hard in the early 1990s. It was something he had never heard before.  In 1994 Takaaki began to organize his own techno parties in his home of northern Japan.  By providing an interesting lineups, his parties quickly became a success. 
In 1996, having decided that it was time to start making his own tracks, Takaaki Itoh emerged to purchase the vital instruments to begin production.  After sending out three finished projects to various labels, Majesty from US and Electracom from UK was fortunate enough to put Takaaki‘s first material out.  This moment was something he will never forget, as he was finally able to hear his own music on vinyl. Several releases followed with Electracom as his tracks began to appear in magazine DJ charts in well known DJs from around the world. In 2000, Takaaki Itoh made his European DJ debut in Slovakia.  People recognized his own style. Later he was becoming recognized as Japan's most underground and respected techno DJ. 
As of 2001 he was getting offers to perform at large clubs and festivals all over Europe, including Cosmic Trip and Svojsice in the Czech Republic, The Darkside in England, MTW in Germany, Awakenings and Reactor in Holland, Mayday and Sziget in Hungary, La Real and Code in Spain, U.Club and Boomerang in Slovakia, Projekt in Belgium, as well as events in Brasil, Columbia, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Poland, Portugal, Serbia. Slovenia.. Takaaki Itoh took the next step and with Brano of Standa started his own label Wols.
By 2005 Takaaki Itoh has released over 50 original productions on many different european labels like Sheep, Tsunami, Warm Up, Theory, MB Selektions, Integrale Muzique, PVC, etc. Recently he released EPs or remixes on Planet Rhythm, 1962, Modularz, Shaded, Grey Report, Dyad, Gynoid Ltd, Limited,...

Hidden Colour

Here's a recording of my Live Set at Festival Forte made using modular synthesisers and hardware machines. It's a bit rough in places, but you can hear the music being created and destroyed as it's happening and I love that most about performing improvised live sets. So I wanted to share the recording with you.
