Swedish DJ and label head Philippa Pacho began her career in the illegal party scene of Stockholm. As a resident of Under Bron since 2012, she has gone on to become one of the most in-demand DJs, renowned for her legendary marathon sets, razor sharp mixing, and powerful, radiant approach to techno.

About the mix Philippa said: 

“I tried to keep a ’festival in nature’ - theme whilst recording this, less peak moments and more groovy, hypnotic and repetitive/trippy, more leaning to what I would play at a closing set.”

NTS ~ GiGi FM B2B Altinbas At Stone Techno Festival 2024

The long running stirrings of Surgeon (Anthony Child) and Regis (Karl O’Connor) under the conjunct British Murder Boys are not for the faint of heart. Their alleged final act came before a Tokyo crowd in 2012, but the goodbye only lasted three years and with their Amsterdam return, a reformulation of their signature industrial sound. The duo, both at their acme with little signs of descent, have together found a hybrid techno that scales high and large, bringing together thumping bass and hissing feedback for a distinctly belligerent and primal club sound. It’s not all obvious, their 2020 cover of Lou Reed’s Real Good Time Together offered a machine-inflected spin on the original, and opened the door for their debut LP Active Agents And House Boys (2024). At the heart is a provocative, sexually-charged and punkish techno that offloads bristling rhythms and defiant energy, one that’s a little more controlled and mathematical in practice. Following on from their show at Bassiani back in November comes this next mix. Bassiani Podcast 250 is an hour-long and live recorded assault: thrashing beats, crazed and bleepy arps, EBM-style shouts, a decadent and rageful call to arms and one of the most important instalments in this long running series. Back-breaking industrial techno from these two heavyweights and originators of the Birmingham sound.

Merging future-facing, hi-tech abstraction with a sixth sense for those inescapable rhythms and a wonky, off-kilter sonic engineering, Marie-Julie entices us down the path of complete mind-alteration. Luigi Tozzi (live) - Upclose 2025

@philippapacho is like a musical Swiss knife: she has exactly the right tool for every occasion, from warm-ups to peak time to wonky afters. It was a long residency at Under Bron in her native Stockholm that equipped her with those skills, and since moving to Berlin, she's gone on to make her mark across Europe playing all forms of techno. Late last year, Pacho launched her own label Phorum Records as a further extension of her sound, and she also curates tracks and parties under the Positive Source banner.

This August, Pacho joins us at Amsterdamse Bos for Dekmantel 2025 but first serves up this deeply cerebral trip into Millsian techno. It's a high-speed selection of sleek and synth-laced sounds rich in narrative, be that mind-melting urgency, more dark and moody undercurrents or a sense of cosmic unknown. Utterly timeless and effortless classic, this is techno in its most futuristic form.

Amsterdam's one and only Deniro returns to the series with a two-hour treat spanning his fast-paced, hi-res techno headspace. Up with the cutting-edge wares and laser-focussed grooves, the TAPE Records co-founder and RYC alum has us drifting across hi-tech machine funk scapes and jagged analogue reliefs, constantly in search for the next mind-expanding thrill. Known for his impeccably chiselled signature cuts blending the finest of future-facing techno with an experimental-leaning approach to production, Deniro turns in a monster transmission, rife with the hypnotic hoodoo and typically entrancing buildups that've made him the surefire agent of techno he is today.
