Growing up, I listened to a lot of rock from across the ages. There were a few artists who I was particularly drawn to, and Frampton was one of those. I remember as a kid hearing the talkbox and being totally blown away. So when the opportunity came, I jumped at being able to do a funky little reworking of "Do You Feel Like We Do".

Time for something a bit different! Here's my official remix of Too Short's Weird Science, a collab I did with my good friend Wolf-e-Wolf. The original also features verses from Oh Blimey and the was produced by San Francisco's El Diablo. We took the original and flipped it on it's head, adding a good deal of melody and big bass but still keeping the relatively dark hip hop vibe. I've been graciously allowed to offer this up as a free download, so grab it while you can!

For your listening pleasure, here's the set I played last week at Alex Grey's Chapel Of Sacred Mirrors. It features all originals, remixes, and a couple remixes others have done for me over the years as well. The crowd at CoSM was incredibly open minded, so I ended up going all over the place with genres and tempos. "Back Of My Mind" represents a set of thoughts and feelings that I know have been swimming around somewhere in my brain. Not every song that I make has some specific emotion attached to it. If I do write for the purpose of catharsis, I generally don't release those ideas. But this tune has been something that I've worked on regularly for almost two years to act as a sort of punching bag to clear out the cobwebs so I can focus on other creative ideas. I've rewritten each section a few times, to the point where the only thing surviving from the original idea is the piano melody. As I worked on it, I felt like there was something worth saving and pursuing about the song musically, so I continued chipping away.
