“Romba” is a fusion of Benga beats, coming from East Africa, a unique mix of electroacoustic music supported with beautiful horns played by the Kenyan jazz trumpet player Samson Maiko. The song has a very festive, ceremonial character, combined with Psymilas lyrics and the soft violin by David Ralak, makes everyone celebrate its music and story together. 
A very sensitive successful cross border fusion where once again, Max Doblhoff aka MDgroove & Sidney Simila aka Psymila, as a European and African producer duo succeeds a modern definition and interpretation of African music traditions.

Mawinguni is a confession of passion. It is an expression of the place that love takes us into. It is a plea for more of that feeling, the floating, the journey into the clouds when a moment of love is shared. He says, “Come take me into your arms, where it feels like floating on clouds. Let us fly into your love, where it feels like resting on clouds.” Here, clouds represent that dreamy state, that feeling of drifting into love’s embrace. 
This cross cultural production is a collaboration between Sidney Simila on vocals and synthesisers, Max Doblhoff on Drums and percussions, featuring the Giriama grooves of the Mijikenda Drums band, with a Dub element fused in. It takes you on a journey, into the very “clouds” that the song is talking about.

Simila is a Musician/Producer/Dj from Nairobi, Kenya. He fuses ethnic sounds from his Luhya tribe of western Kenya, creating a vibrant afro charged electronic sound. He is also a multi instrumentalist, specialising on playing ethnic vibes, from omutibo to Benga.
He goes around Kenya to record indigenous sounds and music, for preservation and posterity, under the project Music From East Africa. He is also working to create a Kenyan Dance Music style from experimenting with Benga Music, an upbeat dance style from postcolonial Kenya.

He draws his inspiration from African icons like Ayub Ogada, Hugh Masekela, Fela Kuti, Bi Kidude and many more!
