Treibend und rumpelnd, schlammig und funkelnd - versumpft mit uns krüglich und lauschet dem Sumpfophon. Eine Reise beginnt, die Krüge sprießen, Äuglein schließen, Öhrchen spitzen. Der Sumpf ist unruhig, Schallwellen treiben ihr Unwesen.

Wenn die Mango am höchsten steht geben sich Sonne und Mond einen Schlagabtausch - Battle kann beginnen. Genau wie bei Yin und Yang verschmelzen Pol und Gegenpol und setzen punktuell eine feine Nuance im Farbverlauf der gegenüberliegenden Seite. Die beiden süßesten Mangos auf diesem Planeten stehen hinter den Mixern wie Smoothiemaker im Früchterausch und liefern der Berliner Sumpflandschaft eine groovie freche Sommerbrise.

Der Midtempo Flow geht durch Mark und Bein und resultiert breit gespreizte Köpfe und wipende Mundwinkel - oder so ähnlich. Was ganz sicher ist, der nie eintönige, experimentelle und immer voller FONK betankte Sound braucht einen Dancefloor und jeder Dancefloor braucht Sonne, Mond und Mango.

Saftig, fruchtig frisch,
weiche Schale harter Kern wie Marmorstein, der nicht bricht - Appell an alle Lauscher: Vamos! Hoch jetzt von Couch und Tisch, die Mangos sind am Stissen und servieren eine GrooveAttack-Kombi mit SpaceDisco-Attitude - da wird ja wohl die Mango in der Pfanne verrückt.

We are on the way to DAAD 2023 and in this series we are presenting some of the artists that will be creating the soundscapes at the next gathering. In this first episode welcome Hungarian DJ DTNB. aka Dorka, co-founder + curator at @niceproduction_bp. Dorka started her musical journey at age 5 by learning how to play the piano. Since then she fell in love with electronic music as well, and got interested in digging tracks and artists, and showing her new findings to others. Her mixes are ‘eclectic’ in a way she fuses techno with other genres such as electro and breaks.

Here is the recording from my Micro Jaxon alias set from Esoteric Festival 2023
I played at 8:30 in the morning on Sunday. There were very few attendees to begin with (was absolutely ok though). 
It completely filled my heart right up seeing a small gander of beautiful friends that came to get there ears tendered too. 

Upon the first mix, I found myself delving into my special 'breaking the barriers' headspace, 
I so often find myself in. 
I could really feel into the experimental sound collage dynamic flow...

In this mix, there is a style of mixing quite coherent in the sound.
I call it 'gut instinct, devine cosmic timing, sound art blends' purposely in a collaging state, mixing different tempos together, ripe with an array of effects to marry unexpected contrasts in a full spectrum audio archive analysis.

Here's the recording of my set for the Japanese inspired @theupsidedown_sa last Saturday! Been a big fan of this collective for a while now as they're the only crew really giving the slower tempos a space in Cape Town and it was a treat to finally get to play some tunes for them! A proper mature crowd of music lovers that know how to get down to those low slung rhythms. I played alongside @ashton_sa, @hesselberg1 and @olly-barnett.

Der Tonus, zu deutsch: der Druck 
Plural: Toni - aka-tony

Kaum ein fleißigeres Bienchen oder Biberchen - schwirrt oder knackt im Lock-downtempo-Kosmos umher. Getränkt im Nektar außerordentlich smoother und einnehmender Musikgeschmäcker, arrangiert und stabilisiert er die Äste seiner musikalischen Dämme & Nester. 
Stabil eh! Sowas von. Nie eintönig oder vorhersehbar, aber immer unverzichtbar!

Sattelt das proggy Pferd, nehmt die peitschenden Zügel in die Hände und galoppiert senkrecht entlang der Wände, Tony hat kein Bock aufs Ende.
Hier wird keiner überholt oder rechts liegen gelassen, die Transakustische-Eisenbahn passt sich an und schießt mit fliegendem Funkenregen in den Nebel.

In seinen mittlerweile über 50 Soundcloud Auftritten zeigt uns “Mr slickpitch” wie man super schnell mit Handbremse ans Minus Limit driftet und abhebt. Er ist versiert und rasiert mit seinen verträumt, muckelig bis schiebend, hypno-schnuckeligen Tape-Wellen bis die Biber bellen.
Für uns ein echter Meilenstein! - "The Underpitcher" aka-tony!

Aufs derbste wurden die Krüge in heimischen Gefilden durchforstet um diese Symbiose zu kreieren, welche wir euch hiermit stolz präsentieren.

ShnugDub is the psychedelic dub act of Courtney Barends. Growing up in Johannesburg South Africa, she draws influence from 90s hip-hop, drum ‘n bass and dubstep. Her involvement in the Cape Town psytrance community for the last 13 years has led to a deep exploration of each psychedelic genre known to humankind, allowing her to combine dubby psychedelic sounds with broken rhythms, and crunchy twisted basslines ranging from dub to mid-tempo grooves.
