LabRat is the result of a scientific accident that happened to Dr. Patrick Jensen in a secret danish lab.

During the confidential experiments he was conducting on rodents, Patrick accidently inhaled the serum he was developing.
As he result, a new psyche emerged in his mind; whispering ideas about crazy music he should produce.
LabRat was born.

His sound can be described as funky & playful yet hard hitting enough to make you question your sanity.

Wicked Wizard is a Psychedelic Trance DJ Project that was first embraced in the 2020 World Pandemic. A chance to get creative and explore a lifetime passion of musical expression in combination with a psychedelic state of mind. Forever a Student and Master at the same time, he has evolved from his decade of lifestyle as an old school Hip-Hop Lyricist, doing jams & cyphers, to a Psy-Trance DJ and already making some interesting waves of psychedelic ocean in the festival community controlling the dancefloors such as Esoteric Festival, Yatra Festival, Orin Aya Festival, Ergot Gathering, Mithya Music Prod Gigs, Psy-Co Prod Gigs and various other small shindigs and have been on the sound roster with some heavyweights in global psytrance community.

Creating an intellectually engaging d’floor for the people and taking them through a journey of fresh psychedelic sounds ranging between funky bubbly mood to serious sonic business.
He has a diversity in the vision of his sound where he orchestrates the dance floors like a Wizard does. He puts a conscious perspective behind his sets that resonates with psychedelic heads in the crowd, smiles and head nods, he’s sure to shake the dance floor and do justice to it.
Dynamic with the sound selection, Every set tailored to tingle the mind and body. Curating the dancefloor experience based on the hour of the day or night bringing in the perspective of light, time and space with the sound.

Marco Riipi aka ‘’Shenanigan” was born 1991 and raised in Sweden. At an early age he began listening to a variety of electronic music. By 2006 he finished his first track using the program Fruity loops and after some time producing Hardstyle he began going to local Psytrance parties and it immediately captivated his imagination. 

He has played at numerous parties and festivals in Sweden and Denmark, for instance Forest Star, Spiritz of The Jungle, Skogen Kallar, Electronic Culture. After releasing 2 EP’s at Maharetta Records and 1 EP at Sangoma Records plus a lot of tracks on different VA’s he has now built a solid foundation of his undeniably unique and elegant style demonstrates his clear understanding and apperception for all elements of the modern psychedelic trance.

A haven for the like minded and a hub of creativity, it has embraced all aspects of psy-culture. The concept of PsynOpticz was seeded in the thriving Cape Town indoor scene in 2006, where it flourished, providing the CT masses with cream of the crop local and international talent on a weekly basis. With this experience and ever growing support, it became inevitable that PsynOpticz branch out into the outdoors, providing South Africa with it's staple annual event, Jungala Festival.

It has its own special flavour and design, with the goal to create an all encompassing experience that removes you from the mundane and transports you to an interactive psychedelic wonderland, a completely synergistic and harmonious journey from beginning to end. These festival hosts fresh talent as well as headliners, both homegrown and from around the globe, establishing the network that would eventually culminate in the evolution of PsynOpticz from event organiser to a record label.

The mastermind behind PsynOpticz, Calvin aka SwiTcHcaChe, has developed a keen ear for prospective acts, being both organiser as well a DJ. By committing to bringing out new and exciting acts to Cape Town, he uncovered many artists that share his love for non-generic and energetic psychedelic music, and his desire grew to expose this incredible music to the unsuspecting psy masses. Currently, the PsynOpticz stable is represented by artists from around the globe, each bringing their own unique approach and sound to the psychedelic world stage.

The driving force behind PsynOpticz is their ignitable passion and deep love of the culture and music. The label grows from strength to strength daily, fueled by the positive response and endless smiles experienced on a PsynOpticz dance-floor, or anywhere the music is played and enjoyed.
