This is the Drum and Bass set I played @ the Lost in Summer Time festival in 2017 (by Lost in Time Records) in the chillout. I kept the tracklist I played there and recorded it at home now. This is the set I played at Amygdala 2 (Anneke's birthday) in between Colin OOOD and Alpine. I mixed the tracks back at home in the same way I played them there. From late '90s Goa Trance towards Schlabbaduerst style Forest and into modern Forest Trance. I tried to keep it going upward and climactic all the time and included some of the most bombastic brain massaging acidic tracks I know in it.

Psytek @ Old Is Gold XVII (Goa)

And the little story/bio I wrote:
I'm excited to be on this show and want to tell you a bit of a background story about how I got to mixing sets like this and how I was inspired by Zoon's music.

Back in 2006 - 2007 "oldskool" Goa parties were booming in Belgium and the Schlabbaduerst compilations had received a cult status. I can still remember the people talking on and after the parties about "those monochromatic CDs with a style you have never heard before". Up until then I was mainly dj'ing "night Fullon" as a young enthousiast, but I quickly got sucked into the '90s style and especially the rougher, harder, more night time oriented tracks I heard other DJs play. Tracks by Hux Flux, Toï Doï, UX, Battle of the Future Buddhas, Ka-Sol... were rocking the dancefloor and I started digging for similar music. I remember one of my first Goa / Forest sets in the forests of Wachtebeke around 2008 where the dancefloor had grown to a multitude of what was to be expected there, having thé green CD in my hand and selecting Jungle Box by Zoon. I saw the dancefloor go nuts. Since then I have been DJ'ing on somewhat of a monthly basis and tracks within this genre have been my go-to picks. The classic '90s Goa style (and all the artists that are making music inspired by it) I still hold as dear to my heart as I did before and I still love playing these tracks just as much, next to Suomisaundi and "modern" Forest Trance.

But I'm first and foremost a collector. Next to buying old and new physical releases I discovered there was a whole community of people collecting music that was only spread out online or remained unreleased. My sets will always have a portion of each of these sources in it. I want to thank everybody that helped preserve this old music, the artists that I got into contact with and who trusted me to play their tracks on the dancefloor, the people who trusted me to be behind the decks and especially each and every person that holds the scene dear to its heart and is supportive in any way. Also Ward (DJ Inada) from Cronomi Records for being a big inspiration. Joining Cronomi in 2012 opened the world of Psytrance even more to me. I met a lot of great people this way and can listen to the music people are sending in. 

During my DJ'ing trip I sometimes met David, Christer and Jens behind the decks. I was welcome to join Schlabbaduerst ReKkords in 2021 and I'm ever so grateful for it.  These guys are just breathing out awesome music, be sure to catch their next live sets, even if you've heard them before.  In my sets I can give previews of tracks that are in the pipeline and let you hear what they made a longer time ago. Another common thread throughout my journey was my contact with Yani. Preparing our DJ sets together made me think outside the box, his DJ sets inspired me and he's been a fellow collector for the longest time. In 2018 I met Christopher Zoon a couple of times in Belgium and we started chatting afterwards, exchanging thoughts and music. I find his music to be very distinct. Mossy melodies that are often melancholic, paired in a unique way with varied energetic stomping basslines. In every set I play I can fit at least one of his tracks, but making a "Zoon-like" set on its own has proven to be quite a challenge. Thankfully the "Forest" genre has become so diverse and there's more and more people making awesome music to choose from. I want to let you hear tracks of a few of my favorite active projects like Weird Wizard, Dragon Twins, Jagoa, Nirmanakayas... next to the Schlabb artists and older hidden gems. I hope you'll enjoy it!

Here's the set I played @ DJ Keet's verjaardagsrave! Taking over from Toine (Acid Tekno) towards Tetra Hertz (Neurofunk). So this set goes from Acid Breakbeat into DnB / Neuro. I choose some of the most profound atmospheric tracks I know.

At Psychedelic Adventure I got to play right before Dimension 5. Thanks again Tom for this lovely setup and opportunity. Pavane and Binary Bliss set the dancefloor on fire and I really hoped to maintain the momentum at such a delicate moment. The room was packed, the energy was undescribable. Here's a super emotional and melancholic Trance set. From retro club hits into Goa Trance. Mostly 90s tracks. I hope this'll be a nice trip for you.

I've been keeping a list of music like this since I was young. Over the course of a year I wrote down the nicest mixes I could come up with during my weekly mixing sessions. Most mixes are 2 minutes long. From 135 BPM --> 148 BPM. And I have a lot more ideas like this for future parties too. Do ask in advance if you want this style or my usual Goa/Forest style. ^.^

Here's a trippy and abstract oldschool Goa set mixed by IronSun (Wim Schepmans) and me.

I'm extra excited to share this set since it gets hyperpsychedelic and because it was a very nice first jam with him. After talking for a few hours about music and data wa started mixing. We didn't plan anything beforehand except for the fact someone would bring in a track by Hallucinogen and we would build up to acidic tracks. Wim pressed record for in case something fitting would come out of it. And here it is. 🙂

You can book us together. We see this set as a buildup set for around midnight. And we have the most ideas for intense and flowing night time sets.

Psytek @ Mossy Behavior (2025-04) (Oldschool Psy/Forest)

For this dj set I focused on the works of the Derango duo and the Hallucinogenic Horses artists, and I blended them together with some awesome storytellers by other great artists like Encephalopaticys, Oneiromanix, Attoya... This is the kind of music I would play near twilight hours after a night of dark music. It starts out more dark and abstract and goes into more floating and mossy music.

This set contains a lot of tracks that I played at some of the Hallugen, From Here to Eternity and Lost in Time parties during the last 2 years.

Psytek Ekata - Cross The Streams (Forest)

This dj set contains some released and unreleased tracks from Cronomi Records, blended together with a few tracks of our scene's greatest artists since the '90s. Most tracks are new (made around 2010), others are "Oldskool". But they all contribute to the story: Crawling acid lines, becoming more and more intense and melodic :)

This is a mix of some my favorite more abstract Forest Trance tracks. These tracks have been a real zen experience to me and I'm sure they can have the same effect on others while listening to this mix. :) Sometimes an overload of structures can have the same calming effect as total silence... This is the music I would play when I'm booked at a Forest/Dark Psy party in the middle of the night.

This is the dj set I played at Mossy Behavior - Forgotten Forest Tales (2017-09-15)in Belgium where they invited Schlabbaduerst Rekkords. I recorded it back at home since it didn't get entirely recorded at the party. It's a mix of darkish Oldskool Goa, early '00 Psytrance and Oldskool Forest Trance. I tried to make the set easy enough to step into, but also psychedelic enough to be worthy of leading into the Schlab team.

This is the set I played at Mossy Behavior last weekend after a unique act by Droidsect! :)
I was asked to play from Droidy towards Ka-Solly music, so this is what I came up with. I wanted to play sexy, muddy and playful Forest, from new to old. I loved the atmosphere on the dancefloor all night long and I was honored that you trusted me to play at the end of this lineup :D

Raw, dark acidic Psytrance from 1997 - now. I chose tracks from different subgenres that have the same distinct roaring & ravy atmosphere. Most tracks are from 1998 - 2005. Also a lot of Schlabby goodness at the end and a lot of Toï Doï tracks.

Hello, welcome to my Soundcloud!

I'm a Belgian DJ active in our Goa scene.  You can pick any set here as a template for what you want at your party. And I will adjust to the lineup. I'm a label DJ at Cronomi and Schlabbaduerst and can play older tracks by these artists and tracks that are in the pipeline for future releases.

I usually play:
- Darkish Goa mixed with Schlab-style Forest and early '00s Psytrance at night
- Trippy melodic Goa during the daytime
- Modern Forest (Sanaton/Ygdrassil style) 

And going from one style to the other is what I like to do the most. :)
