Originally released in 1995 as part of the Icelandic artist’s landmark album Post, the track quickly became one of her most recognizable works, praised for its industrial edge and powerful vocal delivery. Nearly three decades later, ‘Army Of Me’ continues to resonate with audiences worldwide, making it a natural choice for reinterpretation on today’s progressive stage.

Argentinean DJ and producer Emi Galvan has consistently defied expectations throughout his much-lauded decade-long career. Through the success of early tracks like 2016's ‘Taking Over’ and ‘Universe’, the Buenos Aires resident emerged into one of the progressive scene’s most promising talents. A rich musical background with time spent in rock bands playing guitar and singing gave Emi’s electronic compositions a measurable creative edge. This elusive sound did not go unnoticed as he quickly earned the praise of genre tastemakers Cid Inc, Eelke Kleijn, Guy J, Guy Mantzur, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren; while landing career-defining releases via Balance, Sudbeat and The Soundgarden. Also an accomplished DJ, Emi’s long undulating sets have seen him delight crowds across the globe, with his unique blend of melody and rhythm placing him amongst Argentina’s most in-demand electronic artists.

Tested extensively in his own sets over recent months, Emi’s remix of ‘Army Of Me’ has already been supported by Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo, Sebastien Leger, Eli Nissan and Henry Saiz among others. Staying true to the haunting intensity of the original while reimagining it for today’s dance floors, the Argentine’s version strikes a perfect balance between nostalgia and innovation. Who Da Funk- Shiny Disco Balls (Zankee Gulati Remix) [FREE DOWNLOAD]

When I first heard On Board back in 2018 (the first Dosem track to grace my ears), I was struck by how it had such a blend of dark, moody atmospheric vibes but with a progressive groove and almost techno sound to it. Since then, Dosem’s releases went from strength to strength and he has been a top tier favourite artist of mine ever since. 

Having been lucky enough to witness some of his most iconic sets at Printworks and the Anjuna Weekender in London and Explorations in Albania, it is very much another pinch us moment to be supporting him this month in the beautiful basement in Joshua Brooks, Manchester. 

This months mix is a celebration of Dosem’s amazing back catalogue of deep and progressive house, soulful techno and melodic breaks. We hope you enjoy, and hopefully see you on October 25th X

There's a lot to think about when playing an early set for such an iconic old clubbing brand like Godskitchen, especially when it's a 25th anniversary show at Amnesia in Ibiza. I need to make sure I stay true to my current sound, while throwing in memorable tracks and moments from back in the day. I need to make sure those classics I do play aren't obvious ones that are peak time and the ones everyone else will think of playing on the night. I need to place those records carefully, depending on how long it takes for the room to fill up (the club was packed on this occasion!), and how the energy is going. And I need to be considerate of which DJ is following me, and also the general flow of the night on a whole, while marrying the expectations of the people on the dancefloor. This is what I went for, and I think it's worked out ok :)
