Platitud, a neologism in Spanish for the word 'Platitude', meaning 'A trite or banal remark or statement, especially one expressed as if it were original or significant', is Maqueta's first album in 6 years.

With an outward look towards the world instead of towards the inside, and partly created during the pandemic, this album is full of observations and criticism towards the powers that control us, that shape and tilt our opinions, that strip us from our humanity.

From the 50+ tracks that made up the sessions that ended up making the album 'Platitud' by Maqueta, more than 40 where left out, many of them already having reached the end of production. This collection reflects some of the work that was made along the way, many instrumental tracks and different production values gives us a deeper glimpse into the several roads that open up during the exploratory journey of making an album.

Analema marks the return of producer ZXZO 5 years after his last release. With a mature, minimalistic & elegant production style, this new composition delights us with clarinets, soft synthesizers and curated textures, providing a soundscape narrative that keeps us eager for more.

Analema

Recorded at the Santa Rosa de Lima church in Buenos Aires, this church-bells concert was recorded specifically with the idea of making an album, meaning the editing & sequencing lends itself to a deep listening experience, compared to the energetic, yet rough (and still highly recommended) live experience.

Joined by Andrés Serantes, Diego Martinez & Margarita Rodriguez Planes, the composer & percussionist Federico Orio set out on this adventure on a realm on which he's by now an expert, to capture this holy bronces which, out of their sacred context, are left with their essential property: a giant percussion instrument. It's hard to imagine the strength of their sound-waves vibrating the interpreters' bodies, yet the listener here can experience the droning, hypnotic motion and strength of the gargantuan shaking frequencies.

Make no mistake, this is a classical music album, a percussion composition and an ensemble performance. It's works both as a deep listening experience and as a soothing balm of sound in the background. Dive in!

Rosa de Lima

Avenia is the debut collaborative EP between the mysterious spiritual collective 'Isabel del Bosco' and ambient electronic music producer Cristián García Laborde AKA 'Koiwa'. 
On this sparse, warm and contemplative release, both parts bring the best from each of their worlds to create a succession of soft & melancholic melodies, ambient dreamscapes and drone-ish beat-driven hypnotic tracks. A lot of variety packed in four compositions that allow for multiple replays.

'Bicha' showcases maeri's exploration of the intersection between ambient music, field recordings and computer-manipulated sounds. With an overall serene tone, it invites the listener to slow down and listen to the nuances of each sound, to subtle layers of instruments almost hidden in the arrangement, as suggested ideas rather than obvious statements.
The hypnotic semi-filtered loop of 'Polillas', the transformative journey underwater of 'Paisaje II' and the soft wind-chimes of the field-recorded 'Cicada' all propose different scenarios, yet they belong to the same cohesive body of work. Dive in !

About her debut single through Puddle, Juliana writes:
''Reunión is made up of field recordings taken from an entire night at the Rio de la Plata's estuary (from dusk till dawn) in February 2024, and an analog bass synth. It's the first track from an EP that delves into the Río de la Plata and the sociopolitical processes around its territory. At night, the estuary has birds, insects, parties in yachts, fishermen, motors, capybaras and fish. It feels at times like a violent party, and also like the calmest place close to the city. ''

Reunion

On this second single, paving the way for his first full LP to be released through Puddle, Koiwa creates a much more sparse, open and spacious ambient track, that will surely relax and calm the listener with it’s contemplative release-filled silences, much in contrast with his first drone single, showcasing his capacity to create very different, yet always hypnotic tracks.

Juliana Kaiser's debut EP through Puddle is an ode to the 'Río de La Plata' with all of its sociopolitical & environmental contradictions. On it, field recordings from the river and its surrounding areas intertwine with subtle and minimalistic synth lines creating a gentle narrative where the listener is free to navigate the space and complete the landscape with what is suggested but not said.

On her second single for her upcoming album 'En la ribera de la noche plutónica', Lu Glass showcases her signature dream/synth pop aesthetic but surprises us with an upbeat rhythm and danceable bass line.
The song slowly evolves into a psychedelic drum-fills section as Lu hypnotically sings 'para poder seguir' (which translates roughly to 'in order to keep going') and keeps growing into a dream-like wall of sound where various counterpointing synths take the lead role and eventually leave us with only the rhythm before ending and leaving us wondering what just happened.
