World 1-2 is an album that features renowned game composers alongside the remixers that pay them tribute. It features original music by grammy-nominated Austin Wintory (Journey), Manami Matsumae (MegaMan), and celebrated remixers Stemage and Danimal Cannon (Metroid Metal), among many more. 

World 1-2 is a music project directed and produced by Mohammed Taher of Koopa Soundworks. It's a collaboration album that combines young independent musicians with superstar composers from the video game industry. World 1-2 features a unique blend of original creations and nostalgia-dipped remixes. All proceeds generated from this album will go toward funding new projects by Koopa Soundworks. We hope you enjoy World 1-2 as much as we enjoyed making it!

Spelunky - A Super Splunky Discovery

I'm a big fan of Spelunky... so I decided to do a remix of the original game's cave area.

Back to the Caves ~ Spelunky Remix

So I went to a friend's place and he showed me a bit of Spelunky gameplay. I liked what I saw, but I liked what I heard even more. One thing led to another, and this cover was brought into existence. It took me about 2 hours from blank FTM to completed cover, much - I think - to my friend's amazement.

This is, as always, a hardware render of the tune, played using a TNS-HFC3 device with a Lagrange Point cartridge.

Spelunky - Title/Death Match for Piano and Violin (Feat. Gabe Terracciano)



This 2nd track in the album took twice as long to make as it should have done and carries with it a lot of pain, as I accidentally overwrote the project file,  and had to rebuild it from scratch (back up your work, kids!)

Leaving aside this small disaster, here's a song about driving through a city at night.

At some points I decided to fully embrace repetitiveness for a few measures, making this the kind of track you could chill and zone out to. The chaotic and jazzy synth solo aims to complement this choice :)
