After a long stint in LA, Troy Kurtz has returned to Miami where he left in 2012. While living in the magic city, he was called upon to be direct support for everyone from Richie Hawtin to Luciano at clubs like LIV, Space, and Story, and also performed at Ultra Music Festival in 2010. 

He moved to LA shortly following the release of his esteemed 2012 EP as Kurtz & Bomber on John Digweed’s iconic Bedrock Records.
				
While in LA, he held esteemed music curatorial roles at Insomniac and Red Bull, and maintained his skills behind the decks performing in Barcelona, Bali, London, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Toronto.

Kurtz recently founded his label Pulp Trax at the end of 2020 and has already released two esteemed EPs and is set to release a 3rd this July with good friend Lubelski who has released on Dirtybird, Crosstown Rebels, and Desert Hearts.

Through a cosmic conjuring, two long lost buds came together during the extended groundhog's day of quarantine and created a maelstrom of tracks. Of course, we're talking about the already prolific @lubelski (Dirtybird, Crosstown Rebels, Desert Hearts etc. etc.) and label dad @troykurtz.

Chemistry between the two struck like a lightning bolt, and the onslaught of music poured out in a harmonious fashion. 

'Plasmatics' is the heavyweight slammer of the bunch. Buff with 100 tons of sub bass and growl, this breaky behemoth also wears a gossamer layer of modulated synths and articulate sound design for the yin to the very strong yang.

'Flight of the Pygmies' also comes correct with a flurry of drum breaks, but it's the thick and humid bassline accompanied by barrage of lush samples that'll make you feel like you're in a real life game of JUMANJI with Robin Williams (RIP you blessed soul).

'Spaghettification' might be hard to spell but it's easy on the ear canals. The guys slow things down for a psychedelic chugger complete with a massive Prophet breakdown, modular ear candy and tasty guitar licks that'll be just ripe enough for the next vampire disco.

'Afternoon French Press' rounds out the EP, and is the floatiest of the bunch. This roller has the pungent musk of a dark roast, but is a well-balanced caffeine high perfect for warm and breezy afternoon pick me up. Come for the whimsical melody, stay for the beautiful french poem.

iii Points Fest recently slammed into Miami like a category 5 hurricane and I had the pleasure of playing the sunset set on the Isotropic stage before the likes of Moscoman, John Tejada and Fjaak took over.

Here's the recording of the set which includes some rave weapons mixed in with some all time favorites from Benoit & Sergio, Caribou, Nicolas Jaar, and Ron Trent, as well as a couple unreleased ones from myself and others .
