UK dub heavyweights since the 1980′s Alpha & Omega are amongst the earliest of the UK dub and reggae pioneers. With releases on the legendary Greensleeves label and their own Alpha & Omega records they played a vital role in the global rise of reggae music and soundsystem culture. Steppas Records presents a very unique A&O release: It’s not a re-issue, it’s not a re-press, it’s not a compilation: it’s ‘The Half That’s Never Been Told’, an unreleased ‘lost’ Alpha & Omega LP produced between 1989 and 1995, painstakingly remastered and featuring original A&O artwork, coming early 2014.

This time we teamed up with two great upcoming talents from the new era of Digital / Rub a Dub reggae; we are talking about the young producer from Devon (UK), Interrupt and the new Spanish phenomenon Ponchita Peligros.

This EP is composed of six tracks, two vocal cuts with the sweet melodic voice of Ponchita accompanied by Interrupt’s riddims plus two remixes of Cutty Ranbs and Michael Prophet feat Ricky Tuffy by Interrupt.

Interrupt has been producing Reggae since 2012. Inspired by the digital Reggae style of the late 1980s where his obsessions inspired him to start creating his own riddims using a CZ-101 keyboard, making his own remixes of popular reggae tunes. In 2013 he released his first EP with Spanish singer George Palmer in a Rubadub Style, which proved to be a big success, promoting both artists and paving the way for many more collaborations and musical endeavours. Upbeat vibes, old-school drum machines, bold bass lines and colourful synthesisers are what define Interrupt’s unique production style.

Ponchita Peligros is a Spanish rub a dub DJ/MC that has turned out as one of the biggest artists of her country. Her style is characterised by her sweet voice and her fun and creative DJ style that brings us back to the 1980s. After releasing her first solo album playing sax and singing in 2008, Ponchita has focused on singing Rub-a-dub in Soundsystem dances and has been collaborating with sounds and producers from all over the world. In June 2014 Scotch Bonnet Records released her first 7" vinyl and after a complete sell-out Ponchita and Stalawa came back again last December with a second 7" release made for the Rub a Dub lovers all over the world ina "Different Style.

“En Pie de Lucha” Episodio 06, forma parte de la serie Videoclip & Discurso, proyecto dirigido por Gran OM donde se ocupa el Videoclip como herramienta de transformación social, enfocado principalmente a sensibilizar y visibilizar luchas sociales así como eventos coyunturales por los que atraviesa el país y donde participan artistas de distintas disciplinas y géneros principalmente del reggae y del rap.
En esta ocasión abordamos el tema de la lucha magisterial  y la defensa de la educación. Consideramos legitima la posición de la CNTE y nos solidarizamos con su causa.

Desde nuestra perspectiva la Reforma Educativa  tiene toda intención de desmantelar a un movimiento fuerte y organizado como la CNTE y la sección 22, que además cuenta con la aprobación de la gente, los pobladores y por supuesto las madres y padres de familia.  Preparan un escenario a futuro sin movimientos de resistencia, para continuar con el desfalco y la rapiña de manera cada vez mas descarada. Es para nosotros evidente el desprecio que tienen aquellos que gobiernan por la gente del pueblo y sobre todo al pueblo organizado.

Como comunidad artística, como comunidad creadora, decidimos acercarnos a ell@s, a l@s maestr@s, madres y padres de familia, decidimos dejar de tener solo una opinión al respecto y convivir con ellos, escucharlos, verlos a los ojos, y entenderl@s, RECONOCERLOS! Estas personas que aparecen en el video, no son mas que gente genuina que esta preocupada por construir mejores escenarios, no los que dictan allá arriba, si no los que se escriben acá abajo. ell@s, son l@s que están en las barricadas, en los bloqueos, en las marchas, en las tomas, en las movilizaciones, ell@s, son los que se organizan, mientras much@s otr@s miran con indiferencia!
