The next guest in our streaming series "Waiting for NACHTIVILLE" is @Agyena. Full of energy and with a wild selection Agyena played himself into our heads and hearts last year. Between House, Electro and Wave he moves confidently, his skillz as a selector seem endless. He is considered one of the newcomers of 2020 (Groove Ranking) and also for the next years we are looking forward to housy sets and percussion fireworks from the man from Leipzig. Way to go!

Sedef Adasï joins us for the very first instalment of our new podcast series. We’re inviting fabric artists, special guests, and rising talent alike to curate a specialist guest mix for us, dropping a new exclusive every few weeks – watch this space.  

HAMAM Nights founder and newly appointed Panorama Bar resident Sedef Adasï handles our inaugural edition, delivering a solid 60 minutes featuring tracks from Luke Vibert, Gerome Sportelli, Isaiah, Friedrich Ernstwith, DJ DISRESPECT and more, with an unreleased tune in there too.

Turkish born, Germany-based DJ Sedef Adasï is a genre-hopping specialist; known to blend anything from tough, psychedelic acid, accelerated techno, rough house and glistening, warping electro. Her mix for us, expertly glides through a rich selection of the above – readying us for her very first appearance – of many, we hope – in our main room next month.

She is part of @g-edit, a flinta*-collective touching different fields of electronic sounds from bass music to house and  in between with a focus on feminist approaches and struggles. Naitwa also started her own collective called @nice4what and is a member of Petrola crew from Leipzig. Furthermore she's involved in the regular event series DRIVE at Institut fuer Zukunft. In her mixes she plays a broad variety of house music – from tech, prog, 90s to early 2000s and nu skool breaky stuff to dub and detroit inspired sounds. Being named a resident at Berghain is likely an unattainable dream for so many DJs, but for Sedef Adasi, it all happened naturally. The Turkish producer grew up in the mid-sized Bavarian city of Augsburg, where a lack of spaces she felt comfortable with—she's mentioned DJing in shoe stores—led her to start her own party, HAMAM Nights. From there she made her name with a vibrant, diverse sound that encompasses breaks, electro, techno and more, with soft-focus melodies and plenty of vocal hooks. She's one of the first residents at the legendary club to truly reflect the glorious cross-pollination of dance music styles in the '10s, when techno absorbed ideas from dubstep, garage and more. 

Adasi represents both floors of that club, and you could imagine this RA Podcast going down in either room, but of course, she exists outside that club's narrative too. What you'll hear here is a cutting-edge and dynamic blend of electro and Latin techno—with two tracks from 2022 MVP Nick León—mixed with grace and finesse. Her sound is immediately approachable, well-paced and full of catchy moments and breakdowns. Listen and find out.

I love opening sets.

Opening sets allow the DJ to create the atmosphere for an entire night and are a true challenge (and lost artform) for those DJs, who travel from town to town every weekend playing 2 hour peak-time sets.

Opening sets allow to play tracks (and / or songs) that you usually don't hear in a club when you arrive after a certain time due to the DJs fear of losing people off the dancefloor (so what? :-D ).

For this and other reasons I dedicate this mix to those who tend to come (too) late and to those who come early at the same time and send a huge "THANK YOU!" to those who were participating LIVE in this session. 
Also to those who contributed a few "WHOOHOOOs" in silent passages - one of the many nice things you only get when playing vinyl :)

It was a pleasure seeing the packed floor bouncing...early, did I mention that? 

There is this line in the song "Hello" by The Beloved:

    All you late-comers, just step on board.
    I'm happy, glad you came.
