Mad scientist techno/tech-house production duo Pump Sloppy has concocted an imaginative genre-defying elixir from a lab in an undisclosed location. It’s been reported that wafting forth from the pair’s lair the basslines are wetter, the beats grimier, and the soundscapes conjure a refreshingly eclectic palette.

The name Pump Sloppy conjures an intriguing duality. The “pump” aspect is the commitment to the groove and rhythm, and the “sloppy” alludes to the band’s playful creativity. Careful listeners to the duo’s oeuvre will discover a command of variants of EDM, psytrance, bass music, and the expressive breadth of techno. Pump Sloppy’s stylistic hallmarks include a rugged bottom end, and clever rhythmic interplay. One signature touch is that the pair’s irreverence for formulaic beat patterns and accents. Other signifiers of that Pump Sloppy aesthetic include an expansive tonal and textural range. Pump Sloppy comprised of a duo that met at an orphan Thanksgiving event in 2014. One half is a self-taught producer whose perfected his craft over a decade, all the while homing in on a signature aesthetic. The other has been active as a DJ at parties, underground events, and festivals.  

The duo officially began working as Pump Sloppy in 2015. Since then, the pair’s sound has grown rapidly based on their dedication to their craft, and Pump Sloppy’s efficient production cycles.
