Reflex - Together (Punks Jump Up Remix)

NOTE: This is not a club dance track! The song is written and recorded in 2005, before PJU started making more club orientated music. On this song Punks Jump Up teamed up with Jamaican reggae legend Tappa Zukie for a genre mash up song. The song is a take on Zukie's original track Revolution from 1978 and used a rhythm track based on Kurious Oranj by post punk band the Fall. Zukie recorded his vocal at Bunny Lee's studio in Kingston, Jamaica. The rest is recorded at Dubious Studio, Stockholm by the great Christoffer Roth. Vocals by Joe and David PJU and Tappa Zukie. Band featuring Anders, Anders and Anders.

PJU FEAT JOSH CAFFE & ROBERT OWENS - 'GIVE IT TO ME' with remixes by Kiwi, Vanilla Ace & Barber, Horse Meat Disco, Muzik Box & Want More. 

Whilst out clubbing one night in London PJU bumped into London DJ & club host Josh Caffe and Cedric of Azari & lll. Before long they all ended up at an after party. They talked to Josh about singing on this track they had been working on which was inspired by this classic Chicago house track called ’Donnie’ by this obscure act 'The It’. Josh jumped on the idea. Said & done, whilst in PJU's west London studio recording Josh's exhilarating vocal, PJU played Josh the ’Donnie’ track which had this haunting soulful vocal which they discovered was by a certain Mr Robert Owens (vocalist on classic tracks like "Tears" by Frankie Knuckles, "I'll Be Your Friend", "Bring Down the Walls" and many more). Josh flipped and said he's good friends with Mr Owens, "let's get him on the track!!" Two weeks later Robert Owens was in the PJU studio and he delivered, on the spot, exactly what the track needed. The result is the track "Give It To Me", a 'back to the roots of Chicago House' number which has already been making waves on the underground scene for some time now. 

Out on Muzik Box with remixes by Beatport top 10 chart resident Vanilla Ace & Barber (a heavy, jacking number) Kiwi (signed to Duke Dumont's Blasé Boys Club label, this remix is HEAVY), Horse Meat Disco (a brilliant disco work out with touches of Dinosaur L), Muzik Box (Muzik Boys label in house jack team) & Want More (a fiery UK bass inspired remix) on October 23.

After a long time of DJing and partying together, London based producers PJU and Earl Grey raided their collection of floppy discs full of edgy samples and put them into a dance project. With a shared mutual passion for all things early Chicago house and JACK, they draw inspiration from the early days, when house music was raw and edgy, and bring that vibe into the present. 
A handful of fun packed studio sessions messing around with a Roland drum machine & a SH 101 bass box resulted in 'Call Me Up', a monster house club track with a clear mission to make you J-A-C-K ! PJU is the project of Punks Jump Up with former releases on Kitsune. Earl Grey is the solo project of Danny Ashenden, who is otherwise know as one half of The C90s or one half of Say Yes to Another Excess (with Daniel Avery).
