Created for a one-minute song compilation in 2010. This is my first self-recorded and produced musical work. Music cobbled together in Apple's "Garage Band," and words created by my own fevered brain.

This is a song I wrote back in 1989, and was recorded in the autumn of 1992 (I think).  Myself on vocals and electronic drums, and my good friend, Matt Merolla, on guitar and backing vocals. This recording was just for fun, made with a single mic on a crappy monophonic cassette tape recorder... which explains why the sound level is all over the place.

The lyrics are based on a real-life incident that happened to me in 1989. I (and quite a few other people, truth be told) encountered a woman driving on the wrong side of a divided highway. No one was hurt, and I believe she safely got off the highway, but it was still a scary encounter. (I think she was driving a Lincoln, actually, but "Cadillac" had the right amount of syllables.)

BTW: "Clovertone" is the name of my group... whenever I get one together.

Before I begin, why the FUCK are all you rappers and Christian rappers following me?? I don't understand it! I I have no intention to listen to whatever sonic dribble you produce, and it's not as if you've listened to any of (what vaguely passes for) my music to warrant following me!

That being said...

I've been a music fan from an early age (two or three years old, at least), and have often dreamed of being a rock star. Sadly, I don't have that fiery talent to play an instrument with any level of proficiency, nor write songs that don't sound contrived or mindless claptrap. Being born in the early 60s, I have an affinity to the rock and pop I've loved while growing up, that of the 60s, 70s, and 80s. That said, I also have a special place in my heart for "odd" music (not necessarily "outsider" music). Groups like Renaldo and the Loaf, (early) Yello, and Art Bears are nectar to my ears. Punk is cool (natch), but I tend to gravitate towards fun pop-punk and away from the snarling, angry, down-with-the-establishment, screaming, atonal punk (it's a bit too hardcore for me). I like music with a sense of humour, or that doesn't take itself too seriously.

You know that phrase, "I don't know much about art, but I know what I like"? That applies to me and music.

To summarize...
I LIKE: rock, pop, progressive, (70s/80s) new wave, pop punk, 70s funk, 70s soul, 70s R&amp;B (as opposed to what passes for "funk", "soul" and "R&amp;B" today), (some) psychedelia, ambient, electronic, instrumental, light jazz, chillout, Celtic, J-pop (specifically Polysics and Plus-Tech Squeeze Box), and IDM.

I DISLIKE: metal/pseudo-metal, Christian/gospel (and music in general with a religious bent), country, hip-hop, rap, trance, dub step, (most) trip-hop, and (most) outsider music.

Naturally, there are exceptions to every rule, but, suffice it to say, I'm very picky about my likes.
