Serafin Sinfonia Op. 67 - nohym - gloomy happy place

In 2017 LF build its first stage at the beautiful @distantgrounds Festival in Kalamata, Greece. @laolaelectronica build the other stage and we spend a beautiful August together. Now 5 years later, we want to revive these lovely memories with their first Lovecast for us.

More late night vibes perhaps?  Sure--if you like a strong trip hop groove that feels like a midpoint between Portishead and Bjork and Tricky, then sure.  

Originally this track was going to be called "Butterflies"--as there is an electric piano part that reminds me of the "Butterflies are free to fly..." line from Elton John's "Someone Saved By Life Tonight."  But as I started collecting some royalty free vocal samples that would work with the groove I had, I couldn't go wrong with the very Portishead-like sample that now gives this track its title.  

There is a lot going on in the song.  I think it all holds together--even if there's a weld or two that aren't as smooth as I wish they were...  

Dive deep into this one and explore--as I think it is one of the better Interbay tracks (full stop.)  Who else could blend the chimy/bell-like DX7 synths of 80s pop and modern synthwave, with the deep chugging bass from post-punk, the drums from hip hop, some uk rap, some male R&B vocals, modern synth pop synths, uk rap bars, some slow electro beats and synths, and a strong indie spirit running throughout.  

Sure feels like this one track is Interbay in a nutshell.  ("No, THIS is Interbay in a nutshell.  Help! Help! I'm in a nutshell!"--Austin Powers, probably.)  

I'm surprised that yesterday's track, "Deep Blue Spark" didn't find as much favor as I'd imagined it would.  I honestly thought that might get a few likes--but, at least y'all gave it a listen.  

I could ask for little more than the same for this latest Interbay track (though, certainly, I would encourage you to give it a like...if you like it...and I hope you do!)  

So, yeah--please listen, like, repost, share, comment, playlist and, most of all, follow along!  New tracks are being posted every day--and that will, hopefully, continue even as I'm dragging the Phantom Laboratories West Mobile Unit 3/4ths of the way across the continent.  (Wish me luck!)

However, in the process of creating, we might need help in the form of guidance, reassurance and fair critics. One person on this planet providing this kind of help is Daensen (@lsdaensen). Huddled against a group of like-minded people, he sits there, calm and compassionate, providing company on their path of creation. We can only guess the number of works we enjoyed in which he played a part, as it's his nature to remain hidden behind the curtains. So today we are even more happy to present to you fruits of his very own labour.
