One of Poland’s most-established radio stations has commissioned PURE Jingles to shape their new audio branding. A modern AC jingle package with the slogan embedded in the logo melody.

Reaching close to 5 million listeners, Radio ZET is currently the #2 rated station. A source of both entertainment and inspiration for an adult audience, it offers a variety of music with news reports as a benchmark. Their website is among the country's 25 most-visited ones with close to 10 million users generating 50 million visits.

“Radio ZET was looking to create a better program flow, and a more contemporary image. We were also aiming to easily match the jingles to the songs we play”, says production director Maciej Wrzesiński. Instead of ordering a custom package, the station opted for a highly-customised re-sing package from the PURE JingleBox.

“From the very beginning, we knew that the cooperation would be great. From jingle selection to final mastering, it went professionally from A to Z. We could really sense that PURE Jingles is in touch with radio and has in-depth knowledge of formats, also of our specific approach. They’re hyper focused on customer needs.”

The popular French radio brand has expanded its PURE Jingles package with additional custom-composed themes to make their novelty sound complete.

In March of 2023, Chérie FM launched into a new era of audio branding. The reason for this was a desire to evolve the brand from a softer towards a more modern AC format, including uptempo and contemporary songs. The station is using this strategy to appeal to a mostly female audience in the 25-49 demographic.

“The French Médiamétrie ratings are mostly based on brand recall. So the station was looking for jingles that drive their positioning and brand name home”, Thomas Giger of PURE Jingles explains. “The latter is achieved by a memorable logo, always sung in a specific way.”

“Apart from building and then maintaining Chérie FM’s brand awareness, the jingles needed to be functional for creating era transitions, like segueing from a 80s classic into a 00s record or vice versa. And doing that quickly to keep the flow going. Some of the Basic IDs are just 7 to 9 seconds long. In this case, less is more.”

Nostalgie adds novelty

One of the top music stations in France, Nostalgie, has commissioned PURE Jingles to create a new, custom-made sound. It celebrates the Classic Hits playlist, while adding a sense of freshness to the music and the brand.

“A generic challenge of the Classic Hits format is to keep it sounding interesting music-wise”, says Thomas Giger of PURE Jingles. “Playlists tends to be consistent, with not many titles being added or removed, apart from 'platooning' the library - taking an active segment of certain music categories out of rotation, and temporarily replacing it by another batch of similar songs. The right jingles are contributing to this desired feeling of musical surprise.”

“We also expect a positive perceptual effect for the brand as a whole. A brand name like Nostalgie could be associated with the meaning of the word nostalgia, which may be connected to feelings of melancholy. In reality, it’s a modern and feel-good radio station. Therefore we aimed to create a contemporary and positive sound, while staying true to the station’s brand values and music promise.”

NRJ has launched its latest package of 10 custom jingles, designed to reinforce their "Hit Music Only" positioning.

“Being at the forefront of music requires a sound that is always current. Together with the client, we chose to take inspiration from today’s chart hits,” says Thomas Giger of PURE Jingles. “The goal was to create jingles that seamlessly integrate with the music flow, sharing the same production style as the high-rotation songs on the playlist.”

The new jingles are now live on NRJ France and beyond. A separate version of the package has been delivered to their international self-owned and franchise stations. What started as a local station in Paris back in 1981 has grown into one of the world’s most widespread hit music brands, with a presence across 25 markets.

NRJ continues to invest in its brand sound, updating its main audio package twice a year with 10 exclusive jingles. In addition, PURE Jingles delivers custom power intros every four weeks. Together, these audio branding assets help NRJ maintain a strong brand and a deep connection with its audience.

RTBF’s multimedia channel for young audiences, TIPIK, presents a fresh brand sound with the launch of 7 custom-made jingles. These reflect the station’s diverse playlist, featuring hits from the 2000s to today’s biggest tracks. The updated audio branding spans a wide range of genres, including Pop, Rock, Dance, and R&B.

In addition to the main station’s rebranding, TIPIK has introduced three new online channels - Lazy, Party, and Rock. These have received 3 additional packages, selected from the PURE JingleBox. This customizable catalogue allowed each channel to tailor its audio identity to suit its specific vibe, whether laid-back, energetic, or bold.

For NPO FunX, we reinvented the iconic jingle. The familiar audio logo remains recognizable, but the new idents end with strong voiceovers and a sonic ID that emphasizes the ‘X’ of FunX. This makes the package highly versatile for radio use and adaptable to various musical keys.

Musically, the compositions are inspired by popular styles like reggaeton, hip-hop, amapiano, and more. With freestyle vocals and contributions from artists, we’ve ensured the package reflects the urban lifestyle and sound.

iHeartMedia New York's WKTU has revitalized its on-air lineup for morning and afternoon drive shows, teaming up with PURE Jingles for an imaging package that perfectly complements the station's refreshed sound.

103.5 KTU welcomed Maxwell, formerly of sister station Z100, as the new host of The Maxwell Show in afternoon drive. Meanwhile, Sean 'Hollywood' Hamilton, who previously held that slot, has brought his signature energy to mornings on KTU. Both received audio branding tools for their radio shows.

Classic Hits station Nostalgie has updated its package, designed to further modernize the brand and boost its presence in recall-based ratings markets like France and other countries.

With a consistent music library, a brand like Nostalgie benefits from a contemporary approach in both content and imaging, middle-aged and older listeners enjoy feeling as young as they once were and are very much living in the present. They like to associate with brands that feel relevant.

The new jingles are also tailored to the French Médiamétrie ratings system, which is based on callout interviews rather than electronic measurement. Giger explains: “Because listeners name the stations they remember, spontaneously and unaided, these jingles are designed to emphasize Nostalgie’s name only, leaving out the slogan. Maximum branding for maximum recall.”

This is the third custom package PURE Jingles has produced for Nostalgie, now consistently one of the top two music stations in the market alongside its sister station, NRJ. POPfm plays feelgood hits from the '90s to today and focuses on positive, entertaining content. Seeking a sonic identity that reflects this tone, co-owner and CEO Mattias Gustavsson, together with international radio consultant Niklas Norden, turned to PURE Jingles.

“Our goal is to make POPfm one of Finland’s leading national stations, so we had high expectations for our brand sound,” says Niklas Norden. “Flow is key for us.
