My World

I’ve found the door to my own little world where the days never end
And I stay inside cus it's where I belong its my new home
And it's all make believe so the trees still have leaves and it's summer
It looks just like Spain and we're just drinking tea in the afternoon

And it feels so fucking real
When I open my eyes I’m convinced I’m mistake
And I bump into things
Like I’m not in the same room as my body

I forget what you sound like
So I fill in the blanks with outdated perceptions
I forget what you feel like
So I just sit across from you drinking my tea and it's real to me

I lose track of time but what's more I lose track of my city
When I’m stuck between two old memories and some meaning
And its all in my head but I don't make it all happy endings
When I get it just right I dissolve I can feel you beside me

And it feels so fucking real

watching  the sunset off the balcony in our condo in Greece
Just after a fight when you still loved my eyes in our apartment in Naples
Waking up jet lagged oh you were so mad asleep at my aunts house

When You caught the bouquet and you threw it away at the wedding in Florence
When we won a deck of cards with coins that weren’t ours on the pier back in Brighton
Talking for hours that turned into years in my old foggy Honda

When kissing was new I gave my shirt to you so drunk in your friends basement
Falling asleep with you right beside me back in my home
