Ever since they heard the rumour that Jacques Bélanger was working on a new project, the first since his EXCITER days ("The Dark Command", "Blood of Tyrants", “New Testament”), the Metal legions have been expecting a new classic.
We soon found out that Bélanger had joined forces with a trio of Swedish musicians, bassist/song writer/lyricist Peter Svensson (Void Moon, TRAP), guitarist/song writer David Stranderud (ex-PORTRAIT, INSTIGATOR, TRAP) and drummer Marcus Rosenkvist (Void Moon) to write some exciting new material. During the recording, Janne Stark (known from Overdrive and author of the Encyclopedia of Swedish Heavy Metal books) contributed with guitar solos on most of the songs. The result is simply amazing. Make no mistake: Bélanger’s voice is as powerful as it ever was, with its typical US-Metal-like high pitched screams! Now first, let it be known that Assassin’s Blade material totally stands up to its Exciter influence, a trait that is most obvious in songs like "The Demented Force", "Transgression" and "Agents of Mystification". In "Autumn Serenade" or "Crucible of War", Bélanger voice might even remind you of Bruce Dickinson, while the song "Prophet’s Urn" will certainly appeal to younger fans of bands like TRIAL or PORTRAIT. Then, it is back to the thunderous mid-tempo "Dreadnought" and to the metallic "Nowhere Riders", in which we hear a perfect mix of EXCITER and AGENT STEEL that will obviously appeal to masses of metal fans.
As if it were not enough, those who want epic material will be pleased with "Herostratos", where guitarist David Stranderud shows the World how much of a guitar wizard he really is. This album culminates in the heroic “League of the Divine Wind”, a saga in which the whole band shows its genius.
All things considered, Agents of Mystification is a killer album, and finally, it is made available to you, the metal fans.

The band still plays a wonderful mix of traditional American-rooted hard rock and fine old-school metal. The wait is over, Mexico’s speed metal demons return. Their last effort, ”The Devil’s Bandit”, was released on our sub label Pure Legend, but this album is coming back through Pure Steel Records, like we did with "Street Law“ in 2011. 

Split Heaven is back with a vengeance with their album “Death Rider”. 

They have formed an alliance with their new singer Jason Conde-Houston, from Seattle, the frontman of US Metal band Skelator. He is strongly influenced by high pitched legends like Helstar’s James Rivera and Primal Fear’s Ralf Scheepers. As always Split Heaven is keeping it true, this time with “Painkiller” style double bass drumming, “Thundersteel” style guitar melodies, and glorious NWoBHM style solos. This album features an uptempo smasher “Speed Of The Hawk”, the spanish  fistpumper “Descarga Letal” as well as the striking opener “Death Rider”. Since their 2007 release „Hymns To Steel“, EMERALD have been part of the Pure Steel family. Within this productive collaboration two more excellent albums („Re-Forged“ (2010) and „Unleashed“ (2012)) were released.

The Swiss band has been around for more than 20 years now and is finally ready to present its long-awaited 7th studio album, in a whole new line up.

After the departure of singer Thomas L. Winkler it became really quiet around the band since the long-distance collaboration with the new American singer George Call (Aska, ex-Omen) turned out to be very difficult. After two years, EMERALD and George parted ways as friends. This collaboration still resulted in two songs that are now included on the new album “Reckoning Day” (plus one bonus track on the limited-edition version).

A more than worthy replacement on vocals was finally found in the great Swiss singer Mace Mitchell, who refined the remaining songs with his powerful voice and finally finished the record.

Those who know EMERALD, know what they will get with „Reckoning Day“: Pounding drums, heavy riffs and melodic leads, reinforced with vigorous Power Metal vocals with balls and a transparent but also very powerful production by V.O. Pulver (Gurd, Poltergeist, Destruction).

On the second half of the album, EMERALD integrated a concept called “The Burgundian Wars” which is based on the historical novel “Der Löwe von Burgund” by the band’s keyboarder Thomas Vaucher.

On “Reckoning Day” EMERALD celebrate more than 60 minutes of Heavy Metal in its purest form, which will leave no real fan disappointed. Superb!
