Adam Sellouk returns to Afterlife with a powerful solo EP. 

After remixing, and collaborating with, Anyma, Adam Sellouk joins Afterlife with his own solo release. Blending melodic elements with crisp sound design, Adam’s EP emits a power from its core. The opening track, a collab with KAS:ST, unites tough layers with a deeper layer of emotion. On ‘Confusion’ he teams up with Glowal to splice a robotic vocal clip with a highly emotive melody and melodrama to great effect. Lastly, ‘Poison’ is comprised heartfelt vocals, melancholy and potent stabs, closing out the EP with a solo cut.

After his recent remix of Deviu’s ‘Snow’ Ft. Mira Nait, French producer Aalson returns to Purified Records with his three-track ‘Daylight’ EP. The title track encapsulates the magic of daylight in sonic form, blending gentle instrumentation and glowing synths across flowing basslines. Moving into ‘Echoes Of Dawn’, nature samples are paired with breakbeat patterns to achieve a poignant and touching atmosphere. Closing with ‘Dreamland’, Aalson builds a cinematic arrangement that fuses classical and contemporary elements to dramatic effect. 

The ‘Daylight’ EP artwork showcases a magnificent shot of a humpback whale gliding through the ocean. Humpback whales are known for their long migrations, traveling up to 16,000 miles annually between feeding and breeding grounds. These whales are also famous for their complex songs, which can last for hours and are thought to play a role in communication and mating. Jellyfish come in a variety of types, from the massive Lion’s Mane jellyfish with tentacles over 100 feet long to the tiny, nearly invisible Irukandji, each with unique adaptations suited to their environment. By studying these diverse species, scientists can learn about efficient swimming mechanics, bio-luminescence, and even advanced healing processes, as jellyfish possess remarkable regenerative abilities. Additionally, some jellyfish, like the Turritopsis dohrnii, exhibit biological immortality, offering insights into aging and cellular regeneration that could have implications for human health research.
