I created 'Mindfloat' as a way of sharing the ever-present and evolving thoughts within my mind. The track's foundation lies in the incorporation of various samples, notably the initial loop ( straight out of a sample pack 😉 ) , which served as the fundamental building blocks of the composition.
The rest of the track is the result of spontaneous improvisation on my part, especially the melodic elements, where I allowed myself to let go of creative constraints. I used a pluck sound to symbolize the drifting and wandering nature of my mind. The entire composition transpired in a single uninterrupted session.
Represented by the buildings and blocks (the loops), and my mind (improvised pluck sounds) floating with no general direction, 'Mindfloat' serves as a homage to my formative years in New York City, a place where I mindlessly wandered (and still do) from street to street in awe (the changing basslines) of what to come across next, appreciating the dynamic and sometimes weathered facets of urban life.

After his recent remix of Deviu’s ‘Snow’ Ft. Mira Nait, French producer Aalson returns to Purified Records with his three-track ‘Daylight’ EP. The title track encapsulates the magic of daylight in sonic form, blending gentle instrumentation and glowing synths across flowing basslines. Moving into ‘Echoes Of Dawn’, nature samples are paired with breakbeat patterns to achieve a poignant and touching atmosphere. Closing with ‘Dreamland’, Aalson builds a cinematic arrangement that fuses classical and contemporary elements to dramatic effect. 

The ‘Daylight’ EP artwork showcases a magnificent shot of a humpback whale gliding through the ocean. Humpback whales are known for their long migrations, traveling up to 16,000 miles annually between feeding and breeding grounds. These whales are also famous for their complex songs, which can last for hours and are thought to play a role in communication and mating.
