Returning to Purified Records with his first label release of 2024, UK-based producer Volaris delivers his driving original ‘Skyline’. Tried and tested in performances around the planet, his latest cut exudes power with deep bass and raw synth work. Incorporating a soaring vocal, this rhythmic creation takes audiences on an enthralling sonic journey throughout its duration. 

The ‘Skyline’ artwork features a submerged photograph from in-between the ocean and the surface. Every minute, a garbage truck’s worth of plastic enters the ocean – a rate that could triple by 2024. To meet this crisis, the U.S. Congress officially reintroduced The Break Free From Plastic Pollution Act in October 2023. The legislation has the power to comprehensively tackle plastics production, inspire copycat legislation at the state level, introduce millions of Americans to progressive, science-backed solutions, and move the U.S. toward a strong position in the ongoing Global Plastics Treaty negotiations. The plastics crisis is a truly global issue, and its causes and consequences must be addressed comprehensively and consistently.

Swiss brotherly duo ENØS make their label debut with their two-track ‘Universum’ EP on Purified Records. Showcasing their powerful progressive sound, the title track demands attention with rumbling bass and striking synth work. Flowing into ‘Fire Inside’, the pair continue their epic sonic journey, devising a vast and captivating arrangement that keeps energy levels high throughout its entirety.

Sharks are fascinating and diverse animals that have been in our ocean for over 400 million years, however there's much more to them than that. A world without sharks would have serious consequences for marine and freshwater ecosystems. Many human communities value sharks in their cultures and there are economies and communities that depend on them. Diverse shark populations are important for healthy oceans, yet many species are in danger of disappearing from our waters. The biggest threat faced by sharks across the world is overfishing, which is why organizations such as the Shark Trust focus so much of their efforts on fisheries management and shark conservation. They work to improve, implement and enforce legislation, and to transform fisheries – all with the aim of safeguarding the future of sharks. The Grey Reef Shark Carcharhinus amblyrhynchos is listed as endangered according to the IUCN Red List.

Returning to Purified Records with his first solo label offering, Dutch producer Thysma delivers his stunning two-track ‘Shiver’ EP. Entering a blissful sonic realm, the title track floats across a soothing arrangement with twinkling keys and undulating patterns. Moving into ‘Next To You’, this vocal cut combines rhythmic percussion with enlightening melodies to complete the EP. 

The ‘Shiver’ artwork features a majestic image of a whale shark captured by Daniel Nicholson. Among the most iconic of sharks, the whale shark is the largest fish that exists today. The whale shark is found worldwide through all tropical and warm temperate seas, apart from the Mediterranean. Though they appear to prefer surface waters between 21-24 degrees C, they make regular dives down to 1000 meters. One of the biggest scientific mysteries is where the pregnant females give birth, though there is some evidence that the Philippines may host a nursery ground. Because of their importance to local tourism economies, whale sharks are fully protected in Mexico, Belize, and Honduras. Organizations like the MarAlliance focus on research, conservation, and community engagement to protect threatened marine species, including whale sharks and rays. The whale shark is listed as endangered according to the IUCN Red List.

Presenting the latest installment of its various artist series, Purified Records delivers Fragments XIX. Selecting three magnificent cuts, the compilation dives into a club-dimension with Spartans’ ‘Interstellar’, P.LIMA’s ‘Indie Reverie’ and Offtide’s ‘Forget The Mistake’, which have all made a massive impact in Nora En Pure’s recent sets around the planet.

The Fragments XIX artwork features a stunning photograph of a pair of rays. Manta and devil rays, known collectively as mobulids, are some of the most beautiful, fascinating and enigmatic creatures in our ocean. The Manta Trust has announced a five-year plan, dedicated to conserving these extraordinary beings. With four key goals, they are dedicated to reducing bycatch and targeted catch, minimizing discarded bycatch and entanglement, protecting from human intrusion, and inspiring positive action. Manta rays are listed as vulnerable according to the IUCN Red List.

Returning with a striking 3-track EP, Swiss producer Dan Sushi delivers his ‘Orbital’ EP on Purified Records. Opening with the title track, he showcases his powerful sound with undulating synths, dramatic instrumentation and hard-hitting bass. Moving into ‘Homecoming’, a driving arrangement develops throughout its duration, combining heavy percussive elements with soaring keys. Rounding it off with ‘Storm’, Dan Sushi crafts an entrancing atmosphere to close the EP, taking over control with rolling rhythms, staccato chords and thunderous bass. 

The ‘Orbital’ artwork features a mesmerizing image of a reef shark amidst a school of fish, captured by Daniel Nicholson. Shockingly, less than 3% of the ocean is fully protected. This means overfishing, bottom trawling, and other destructive activities continue to wreak havoc on the ocean. Scientists say we must protect at least 30% of the ocean by 2030 to stabilize our climate, stop wildlife exploitation, and secure an equitable, healthy future for life everywhere. In December 2022, at COP15, world leaders from over 190 nations committed to this global initiative. Now it’s time to hold them to their promise. Lifting listeners into a sky-high dimension, UK duo NIGHTLAPSE make their Purified Records debut with ‘Weightless’. Forming an instant connection with listeners during Nora En Pure’s DJ Mag Top 100 stream from Bali, this melodic cut provides a sonic escape with rippling synth work and soaring vocals. 

The ‘Weightless’ artwork features a powerful underwater still, shot by Daniel Nicholson. For decades, large corporations have poisoned rivers, devastated forests, and displaced communities. Now, they’re rushing to mine minerals from the last untouched frontier on the planet — the deep sea. The deep sea may be vast and unexplored, but it is incredibly important. It encompasses 95% of the ocean’s volume and is the largest and least explored of Earth’s ecosystems. Some scientists believe that the deep sea and its water column may be the largest carbon sink on Earth, and new species are still being found there. Deep-sea mining would dwarf all other mining operations in human history, and it would take place in a part of the planet that we are only just now beginning to understand. If this dangerous experiment goes wrong, it risks triggering a domino effect of unintended consequences that could destabilize the ocean, trigger food insecurity, and affect all life on Earth.
