On 'Breathe In' the duo of Chad & Dave are joined by Swedish producer and fellow Colorize trailblazer Klur on production duties to mark their first collaboration, as well as stellar duo Kuala on vocals. PRAANA and Klur prove to be a match made in heaven as they lock into a captivating groove over airy synth pads and gorgeous melodies as Kuala weave their stunning vocals into the track with a marvellous ease.

Returning to Purified Records with his first solo label offering, Dutch producer Thysma delivers his stunning two-track ‘Shiver’ EP. Entering a blissful sonic realm, the title track floats across a soothing arrangement with twinkling keys and undulating patterns. Moving into ‘Next To You’, this vocal cut combines rhythmic percussion with enlightening melodies to complete the EP. 

The ‘Shiver’ artwork features a majestic image of a whale shark captured by Daniel Nicholson. Among the most iconic of sharks, the whale shark is the largest fish that exists today. The whale shark is found worldwide through all tropical and warm temperate seas, apart from the Mediterranean. Though they appear to prefer surface waters between 21-24 degrees C, they make regular dives down to 1000 meters. One of the biggest scientific mysteries is where the pregnant females give birth, though there is some evidence that the Philippines may host a nursery ground. Because of their importance to local tourism economies, whale sharks are fully protected in Mexico, Belize, and Honduras. Organizations like the MarAlliance focus on research, conservation, and community engagement to protect threatened marine species, including whale sharks and rays. The whale shark is listed as endangered according to the IUCN Red List.

The ‘Weightless’ artwork features a powerful underwater still, shot by Daniel Nicholson. For decades, large corporations have poisoned rivers, devastated forests, and displaced communities. Now, they’re rushing to mine minerals from the last untouched frontier on the planet — the deep sea. The deep sea may be vast and unexplored, but it is incredibly important. It encompasses 95% of the ocean’s volume and is the largest and least explored of Earth’s ecosystems. Some scientists believe that the deep sea and its water column may be the largest carbon sink on Earth, and new species are still being found there. Deep-sea mining would dwarf all other mining operations in human history, and it would take place in a part of the planet that we are only just now beginning to understand. If this dangerous experiment goes wrong, it risks triggering a domino effect of unintended consequences that could destabilize the ocean, trigger food insecurity, and affect all life on Earth. Following their label debut ‘Heights’, French production duo Weltmusik return to Purified Records with their majestic two-track ‘Lonely Roads’ EP. Opening with a touching vocal offering, the title track glides across a pristine arrangement with soaring synths, silky vocals and driving percussive elements. Flowing into ‘Crowded Skies’, Weltmusik devise a dreamy soundscape through lofty synths and intricate instrumentals, pushed along by deep rolling bass.

The ‘Lonely Roads’ EP artwork features an aerial image of a coral reef by Daniel Nicholson. Coral reefs, known as the rainforests of the sea, hold a wealth of biodiversity and provide shelter for countless marine species. These intricate structures, formed by the calcium carbonate skeletons of coral polyps, serve as vital breeding grounds and habitats for marine life. Their vibrant colors and unique shapes belie the delicate balance that exists between the coral organisms and the algae that call them home. As climate change drives coral bleaching events, organizations such as the Coral Reef Alliance work towards coral reef conservation and restoration. Acknowledging the significance of coral reefs as not only ecological treasures but also essential contributors to human livelihoods underscores the urgency of collective efforts to protect and preserve these underwater marvels. Organisations like the Coral Restoration Foundation focus on restoring and preserving coral reefs through active propagation and transplantation of corals, enhancing reef health.
