Solid Steel (25th April) 20 years ago Nas released his legendary Illmatic album and DJ Moneyshot has put together an outstanding tribute mix 'Nas - Half-Man Half-Amazing'. As with the previous tribute mixes for the Beastie Boys, De La Soul and Public Enemy, it's more an audio documentary threading together sample sources, interview footage and remixes alongside the original Illmatic tracks. Hear the vocabulary, the flow and the rhythm expertly delivered by Nas, backed up by the sublime production of Pete Rock, DJ Premier, Large Professor and Q-Tip, plus original samples from Lee Erwin, The Heath Brothers, Ahmad Jamal and Reuben Wilson. All this deconstructed and rebuilt by Moneyshot for another classic Solid Steel edition.
