Life always finds a way.

After losing Ichu, I started reading about REM sleep. The more I read the more lost I get in this idea, what if we could REM sleep an entire lifetime. One sleep, one lifetime, imagine the possibilities, the different timelines, the different roads that can be taken and lived.

Is this possible, only one way to find out.

After reading up on journals, subreddits, different memoirs of REM sleepers we find out the different methods to REM sleep. It's a mix of music that triggers the mind to take control, of food before sleep that awakens the brain when the food is being digested.

That's the trigger, I know I’m in control now.

What do I do? Should I open the door, the door that leads me to Ichu? Should I barricade the door, forever shut her out.

Flip a coin, heads I go in...tails I barricade. 
Coin is flipped but before it hits the ground I open the door, I’m going to meet her.

Door opens, the music changes, it's more emotional, it's very emotional.

I see Ichu, it's the same frame of what I saw at Chiringuito, but elsewhere, the airport. Ichu standing at the door, staring at me and I stare back. I smile, I tear up, fist clenched. She looks around and turns back… running away, she drops a note while running.

I sprint as fast as I can, I waited for this moment for a year, more than a year… but she is gone. I go to the dropped note. It's crumbled but something is written inside.

I nervously open the letter, the hardest thing to do is to go through something not knowing what's inside it, expecting something your deep desires want brought to life but experiencing something else, that you would not want too.

I noticed a few wet spots on the paper, I could smell her perfume. I could smell her.

We live through a hundred lifetimes, every lifetime just flashes by but ends up with the letter, with the tear drops, with the smell.
It's time to let go, even a thousand lifetimes has never changed the end, always the same.

I wake up and notice a beautiful lady beside me holding my hand, I noticed my hand is old and wrinkled with age. I woke up after sleeping for 30 years, my niece beside me aged 36. Last I saw her she was just 6 years old.

I slept through the most important of days, mom and dad not there anymore. I slept selfishly hoping to live at least one lifetime with her. In the end I lost my lifetime with my family, with my beautiful nephews and niece. All because I couldn't let go.

I wish mom was here.
