This song began all the way back when Manuel was 16 and found love that summer with a girl named Carmen. He remembered her, though, and wrote this song about her all these years later. The title of the song means "Your name has the song," and the lyrics spell out the girl's charms using the letters of her name. Check out the lyrics and the translation below. 
  Using that inspiration, Manuel came up with the song structure and the vocal melodies to a rudimentary drum track with his electric guitar. He then asked Josh if the group would be interested in taking it on. Josh, never being one to refuse a challenging piece of music, and always on the lookout for interesting musicians with whom to collaborate, accepted his kind offer and created a project for the rest of the Eclectic Collecitve to join. He started the whole thing off by adding his bass, to which Ken added his innovative drums, to which Josh redid his bass, as is the typical process in the EC.
  Next up was JJ, who you'd think he'd grown up with Spanish music the way he added the horns, accordion, and piano. Then Stephen stepped in and added his psychedelic and intricate acoustic guitar to the stew. 
  It was all done, except for the mix at this point. Manuel did the honors, and did it very expertly. Stephen mastered it to give it more volume and dynamism, too, as he always does. 
  This was the first, but we hope not the last, time the EC has collaborated with Manuel, although we're all fans of the incredible music on his page. He was a true delight to work with, giving honest, encouraging feedback and helping us shape his song to meet his vision. We hope you enjoy listening to this song as much as we enjoyed creating it.

This one is "Bodice Ripper", it tells the archetypal love story.
I particularly like the chord progression, and some of the melodic motifs.
I wrote it origanally as a song, so if any celtic-style vocalists want to record it, let me know.
The gender of the narative can easily be adjusted for a female vocalist.

The Tryst

I decided to revisit my first LP "Songs For Peace, Love and Understanding with a remix. Just some tweaks here and there related to lyrics, vocal presentation and guitar style. Also plan to say a little about the songs as well. This was an album that I focused on during my first year of retirement form my non- music job as an Occupational Therapist. I had a bucket list goal to make an album and I had no clue how to do it. I received some help form Tom Hanson here on SC which I am truly thankful for. The style of folk music I play is very reflective of the 60' and 70's. I had a theme for the LP so I began the process of writing songs which had a theme of peace, love, and understanding which was very reflective of the generation I grew up in. 
Track # 1  "Heartstrings" begins that theme of love and peace intertwined throughout the album. Without love it seems life would be hardly worth living. Love of family , friends, children, pets and the country we live in are very important to our existence in my humble opinion.......

This song was written by Kevin Lyons and myself, it's really about nothing, just a play on words on my part but Kevin made it his own and composed a beautiful tune for it. I added some guitars and percussion to it. Turned out very nice. *UPDATE: Kevin passed away in Germany last Mother's day 2025. I just found out and am very saddened about this. I don't have any other information on what happened yet. He has a channel on YouTube "Kevin W Lyons" if anyone would like to listen to his music and songs. He and I wrote several songs together from 2022 to 2024 and I made videos for several of them and they are here in my channel on YouTube. if you would like to watch them. I cried right through writing these words. I cried through playing the song. Some might look at that and think I should head for a looney bin. Here's the new normal....That's called real emotion and that's called showing people it's ok to feel it deeply and that's called not giving a shit about showing people that because we should not be afraid of our emotion. When we don't fear to feel then we find new power and music or new music we need to teach children to feel themselves and be honest with those feelings as they will find their true selves younger and EVOLVE
