For this composition we sonificated a solarigraphy picture taken at the Special astrophysical observatory (Russia). 
The camera was located at the dome of the Zeiss-1000 telescope. Exposition: 1 September — 22 December 2019

prepared gusli (a traditional russian zither),
prepared bamboo flute with piano reverb

and prepared minds of the two astronomers 😉

equinox flow

This is a recording of a street dance performance in St. Petersburg on July 30, 2021.

The musical part of the performance features the sounds of different telescopes, sonification of solarigrams, cosmic microwave background, supernova explosions, mystical clicks from the vicinity of mountain Elbrus, slavonic zither and many other instruments mixed in one large sonic canvas.

The dance part of the performance is the translation of cosmic based stimuli to movements of the body and interactive involvement of random people walking on the street with the improvised space theater. Contraction and expansion. Sublimation and dissociation.

This performance felt like a spatial bubble of cosmic intervention into the busy main street of St. Petersburg.

This composition was created in collaboration with contemporary dance theatre "Teatr Zemli" and foley artists Bo Bo & Vidjay. It features the sounds of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB), supernova explosions and lunar occultation of K5 giant star α Tau (Aldebaran), mixed with natural soundscape of the Special Astrophysical Observatory. 

The live performance took place on 12 June 2019, at the "Golitsyn Hall", St. Petersburg, Russia.

The bicycle harp performance by Bo Bo & Vidjay was recorded in December 2018 at the Special Astrophysical Observatory.
