After a series of singles, El Gato Negro finally unveils his new album "Tigre Qui Pleure" ("Crying Tiger") produced by Guts and recorded in Dakar with the best Senegalese and Cuban musicians of the moment. In the track "Mamie Wata", El Gato Negro takes us to the dusty, blood-stained banks of Mali's of Mali's Niger River. Mamie Wata, the aquatic deity of voodoo rites, here takes the form of a mother who has lost her child in the armed conflict in the north of the country. Over a digital soukouss beat, percussion resonates like machine guns and desert guitars cry out in indignation, while the voices of El Gato Negro and his guest, Afrobeat storyteller Pat Kalla plead for peace.

Après une série de singles, El Gato Negro dévoile enfin son nouvel album « Tigre Qui Pleure » produit par Guts et enregistré à Dakar avec les meilleurs musiciens sénégalais et cubains du moment. Dans le titre « Mamie Wata », El Gato Negro nous emmène sur les rives poussiéreuses et tachées de sang du fleuve Niger au Mali. Mamie Wata, divinité aquatique des rites vaudou, prend ici la forme d’une mère qui a perdu son petit dans le conflit armé du nord du pays. Sur une cadence soukouss digitalisée, les percussions résonnent comme des mitraillettes et les guitares du désert crient d’indignation pendant que les voix d’El Gato Negro et de son invité, le conteur afrobeat, Pat Kalla implorent la paix.
