Our next guest is Ecuadorian 🇪🇨 Artist @ManoloMoralesDJ.

The Guayaquil native spent his youth discovering electronic music and retro 80s disco grooves leading him to begin his DJ career in 2007 in the city nightclubs.

In 2010 he went to the Santa Cruz, Galapagos Islands, the experience allowed him to perform with some of the most recognised and renowned DJs in the electronic genre.

Manolo then moved to the famous coastal town of Montañita and became a resident at the renowned Lost Beach Club, regularly performing alongside the elite artists who visited the club weekly.

During his time performing here, he soaked up all shades of House, Tech, Minimal, Afro-house & Disco-funk influences that so clearly characterise his sound today.

Today, Manolo steps up to the PUZZLED Radio throne with an exclusive guest mix and takes us on a wild 90 minute set through various styles of Afro & Tech infused Electronic music.

Our next guest is American DJ and producer Ben Meadow.

The Seattle, WA-based artist’s love affair with music started at a young age, playing oboe and saxophone, and performing in choir, during early education. 

The years that followed saw Ben develop a passion for a wide range of genres such as classic Jazz, Soul, Funk and Rock through his parent's record collections. 

Going into the 90s he listened to a steady diet of the Hip Hop, Trip Hop, Dancehall, Reggae, House and Downtempo that was emerging at the time. 

This vast range of musical influences shows immaculately in Ben’s highly impressive productions that weave in and out of Deep House, Disco and Balearic & Downtempo music with subtle influences of beat-less and experimental music.

On the performance side, Ben has performed all over Seattle at various nightclubs, bars & lounges with much planned for the future.

Ben’s debut music releases - two highly different but equally brilliant singles titled ‘Gringo Star’ & ‘Bad For You’ will be showcased on our brother record label @HOT-GROOVERS in May 2022

Our next guest is Spanish DJ and producer Ivan Fabra.

Ivan Fabra is a Barcelona based DJ/producer and hardcore crate digger. Focusing on Nu Disco, Italo, Cosmic Disco-Funk and Balearic vibes, applying 80s analogue synthesizers, modern technology and pin-sharp production to 80s bass-heavy Italo sounds.

Ivan began his professional music career in 1994 in the Barcelona & Valencia underground scene, being inspired by Chicago House and Detroit Techno. As a music producer, Ivan made his debut on Cosmos Records in 1999, home of Disco-Funk pioneers from Barcelona at that moment, under the name of Funk Star Brothers with a single and a remix for a Spanish Indie Pop band called “Manta Ray” (both Vinyl/CD release.)

This has followed with countless records on a wide array of record labels across Europe.

Ivan mixes his wide musical influences and demonstrates innovative efforts to offer interesting hybrids. It’s all about combining these styles with new effects meeting groovy beats. He is always searching for a timeless quality in music, creating atmospheres in his very own way infusing deep, minimalistic and melodic tunes.

Welcome to the 26TH release for PuzzleProjectsMusic brought to us by Mexican producer Hotmood and Brazilian producer KATORZI.

Hotmood returns immediately to PuzzleProjectsMusic for his 2ND release with more slinky grooves. Hotmood’s unwavering creativity and commitment to his craft has resulted in a plethora of gigs and critically acclaimed releases in recent years, utilising the downtime during the pandemic to equip himself with an assortment of fresh new jams. Meanwhile, Katorzi channels the spirit of his native land, Brazil, into his dope Latin-infused productions. Both artists cultivate hot, sultry vibes while maintaining a focus on rhythm that is utterly infectious and irresistible.

‘Don’t Stop’ is pure, undiluted funk for the soul. Hotmood’s ability to compose individual layers of instrumentation that mimic the sound of a full band is unparalleled. The groovy bass joins forces with a wind section, wah wah guitars and violins… all the groovy goodness. The progression is second to none, taking us deeper and deeper into the funk. This one is guaranteed to send the dance floor into uproar. 

On the flip side Katorzi steps up to rework Hotmood’s original. The percussion really sets this one off, while the bassline is so funky even Rick James would be envious. Like Hotmood’s version, this cut strikes a balance between the hypnotic rhythm of disco and straight up funkadelia. The vocal clip exclaims “Don’t Stop” repeatedly and you can’t help but feel as though it’s an order to keep on dancing until the break of dawn. 

Real funk from the heart from two gifted producers who have an acute understanding of the original sound, bringing it up to date for the 21st Century with nothing but respect for the roots.
