PuzzleProjectsMusic bossman @BenSpaldingOfficial welcomes the return of @KatorziMusic, with this funky little number. The South American is an avid record collector and a genuine lover of music of all kinds. Originally a bass player with an Indie band, he has been immersing himself in electronic music since 2018 and the results have been impressive, to say the least. Katorzi’s passion for funk is evident in his productions, imbuing each cut with irresistible guitar licks and deep, groovy basslines. His experience as a bass player really shines through. 

On ‘Take The Heat’ he delves into the archives to pull out samples from the legendary Funkadelic jam 'By Way Of The Drum'. With this as the foundation, Katorzi builds the cut up with organic-sounding percussion, and a wah-wah guitar straight out of seventies Philadelphia. With a four-to-the-floor rhythm at its core ‘Take The Heat’ is destined for the dance floor, softened cymbals complement the warm toms and retro synths. 

All the while the vocals add uplifting, contagious energy to the track, sliced and diced to work in sync with the thoughtful arrangement. It’s the perfect marriage of old-school vibes with modern production techniques, Katorzi demonstrating his uncanny ability to splice the past with the present day. 

Prepare for an almighty dance floor explosion when this one gets played, the funk is well and truly alive in Katorzi’s safe hands.

After the triumphant ‘The Ego Death’ EP with @RonaldChristoph, label boss @BenSpaldingOfficial returns to @PuzzleProjectsMusic with another dynamite dancefloor collaboration, this time teaming up in an electric partnership with promising Italian artist Ranka.

Their first offering is the original deep slice of acid mind-melt titled '9AM Madness.'

The deceptively simple track is an immediate winner, combining a perfect reverb-heavy beat, a neatly filtered tribal conga line, and delay-laden disco claps, '9AM Madness' properly announces itself after 90 seconds with an acid flex and sizzling hi-hats. And it's some entrance, thanks to that bassbin-wobbling, almost narcotic bassline. 

From there the intensity slowly builds through spoken word snippets and cleverly panned percussion creating a wonderfully hypnotic deep groove. The artful suspense finally gives way to a truly hedonistic breakdown: all sunrise melodies, dropped beats, and that slamming acid break creating a euphoric hands-in-the-air crescendo. 

Straddling the genre gap between tech-house, deep house, and acid, the aptly named '9AM Madness' is perfect sunrise material for the wide-awake and wonky club. But thanks to its restrained structure, it's equally adaptable as a set opener or a mid-set thumper. 

With support from some of the major heavyweights in the scene, 9AM Madness will without question, be a main fix in track libraries of the tech & deep house scene.

PuzzleProjectsMusic continues its prolific run with this potent double trouble package featuring label head Ben Spalding and Italian dynamo Flavio MP. The PuzzleProjectsMusic & @HOT-GROOVERS label boss has been on fire through 2021 with a consistent series of @Beatport top 100 releases in their respective genres, alongside overseeing the rapid growth of the two labels and the talented collective of artists which has led to critical acclaim from publications such as DJ Mag and support from major artists across the genres of Disco, House & Techno worldwide.

Flavio MP – now heavily involved with both labels is a seasoned artist, who has travelled the globe to play at iconic events such as Love Parade, featuring alongside some of the world’s best known underground acts. Together they have produced a double-header that features two unusual, yet exquisitely produced dance floor weapons. 

The release kicks off with 'Funkster', a hard-hitting tech-house stomper with hefty beats and an equally meaty bassline. An extended intro builds the tension sky high before descending into a dense, powerful cut. Fans of hugely popular US series Breaking Bad will recognise the samples, which are amplified by the murky rolling atmosphere. Razor-sharp percussion slices through the thick low end, warped laughter and vocals join drum rolls to pump the track full of energy. Ben and Flavio utilising key design elements to keep the energy and tension ebbing and flowing throughout, to great effect. 

On the flipside we have 'Stop Talking', which uses sampled dialogue from another iconic character - Tony Montana from Scarface. The morose atmosphere complements the infamous lines uttered by Al Pacino, nasty b-line throbs and the snares and hi-hats percolate in the top end. Again, Ben and Flavio take an unorthodox approach with this track, avoiding predictable linear programming to enliven the cut with fresh energy. Get ready for the switch up midway through, as the rhythm shifts and morphs into new territory. 

With two cuts that ooze originality and playfulness, both telling a story from start to end, Ben Spalding and Flavio MP have crafted an EP that is sure to inject fresh energy into the dance floor. Refusing to play by the rules, they have carved out their distinct niche and as we speak, they work on more material.

Incoming… Yep, it’s another fresh release from PuzzleProjectsMusic, a label that is now fully hitting its stride with an impressive catalogue of EPs and singles from a dedicated family of talented producers. Label head @BenSpaldingOfficial has been investing his time and energy into cultivating a platform that represents his outlook; supporting and nurturing up and coming talent while pushing the boundaries of club music. Dan Ros is a Mexican native who is starting to make waves across the nation, thanks to his penchant for tech house rollers and innate talent. 

‘Do It Again’ features a dense low end, with equally chunky beats, shuffling percussion,and minimalist composition that really emphasises the beats and bass. A hip-hop sample adds character, but this cut is all about keeping the dance floor engaged and pumped full of energy. 

As the tune develops, Dan introduces a jaunty organ melody that counterposes its darker elements. Merging these upbeat sounds with the undulating b-line and heavyweight beats results in a balanced track that will entrance the dance floor faithful from start to end.

An ideal weapon for those twilight hours when the rave has descended into uninhibited hedonism.

Keep firmly watching Dan Ros, his upcoming material to be released over the coming 12 months is superb.

Straight off the back of their DJ Mag Spain print and digital feature on the label, @PuzzleProjectsMusic continues to flourish and impress with each new diverse release, this time we get a smoking hot serving of sumptuous tech house courtesy of label head Ben Spalding 🇬🇧 and PPM family member Fernando Acre 🇮🇹 with mastering by German wizard @Christian-Burkhardt.

‘Rude Groove’ is an absolute belter with sophisticated drum programming and a rumbling bassline that rolls along at a deceptively fervent pace. The overall feeling is grimy and lascivious with an outrageously hypnotic woodblock giving raw rhythm and vocals given a church hall vibe that works perfectly taking the crowd up to peak-time or entering the deeper part of the night.

The low end is morose and gives the whole track its ‘dirty’ feel. A huge breakdown around the two-minute mark injects the cut with irresistible energy, while the beats pump and bass rolls out with vigour. 

The song stands its own without question but has also been deliberately mapped out for live improvisation with samples and acapellas to be added and for DJs to get creative with it.

Next up sees @RonaldChristoph return to the label with his long-awaited next co-production with @BenSpaldingOfficial – the release being the monster peak-time techno banger ‘Lost Soul’.

After their debut release together - The Ego Death EP receiving critical acclaim from the cream of the scene, the pair return to PuzzleProjectsMusic with their next release - the single ‘Lost Soul’.

‘Lost Soul’ (PPM0039) is a narcotic, sleazy cut made for all the late-night lurkers. This one has sweet yet emotive vocals from Ronald uniquely combined with a nasty bassline and hypnotic rhythms worthy of the sweaty basement at Turnmills. It evokes images of that peak-time of the night when all inhibitions have been shed and the ravers are united as one, no phones, no posing, lost souls enthralled with the music. 

Unusual effects are incorporated, such as a clipped saxophone and trippy vocal edits to add depth and nuance to the track. As it progresses, the vibrancy increases steadily, with considerate production techniques adding subtle elements and the vocals evolving into an extended volley of lyrics.

A trademark Spalding and Christoph breakdown ensues, before we’re thrown back into the mix with crisp hi-hats joining the fray. The unashamedly big room track is yet another high-quality firecracker, expertly-produced ready for a big system and hungry ravers.

The future will see the pair deliver more powerful tracks that have been in the works over the last year.

Welcome to the 25TH release for @PuzzleProjectsMusic brought to us by Mexican producer @Hotmood and French producer @FunkeeSoundsMusic.

PuzzleProjectsMusic continues 2022 with the same energy and attention to detail by welcoming trailblazing artist Hotmood for his debut release on the label. The Mexican is at the vanguard of the scene in his homeland, a seasoned selector, producer, and label owner who has travelled the globe to spin at clubs in locations such as Las Vegas, LA, Tokyo, Bangkok, Singapore and Colombia. On the Let’s Do It EP he demonstrates his experience and deep understanding of the dance floor with two original cuts that explore the funk and jazz roots of house music, accompanied by a sultry remix from PuzzleProjectsMusic artist FunkeeSounds.

The title track kicks off the EP, immersing us in a sea of funk immediately. Groovy guitar licks are peppered over a funkadelic b-line designed to get the head nodding and hips gyrating. Hotmood’s production utilises organic sounds to create a live band feel, trumpets joining the fray to boost the impact of the cut. Throughout there is constant progression, subtle shifts and changes, filters and a vintage vocal sample that takes the track to another level. 

Next up, ‘Saxy’, as the title suggests, incorporates a gorgeous saxophone to create a sensual atmosphere. Gentle piano keys add a jazzy sheen while the beats and bassline keep the track rolling smoothly. Again, the progression is key, as Hotmood takes us on an expedition into the realms of jazz, the sax especially providing a constantly engaging range of melodies. Expertly composed by the Mexican, with flourishes of energy delivered constantly from start to end.

Finally, FunkeeSounds steps up for a rework of the title track. His remix takes the track into nu-disco territory, retaining that infectiously funky low end, with punchy beats and a disco aesthetic that feels uplifting and optimistic. As with the other cuts on the EP, the arrangement never stagnates, always shifting and evolving, to create a piece of music that embodies that old school ethos of building a track from start to finish with careful consideration given to the impact of each layer.

A wonderful EP, aimed at the dancefloor, composed with contemporary production, and rooted in the songwriting structure of years gone by. It’s a winning combination and a testament to Hotmood and FunkeeSounds exemplary skills.

The Mexican is at the vanguard of the scene in his homeland, a seasoned selector, producer, and label owner who has travelled the globe to spin at clubs in locations such as Las Vegas, LA, Tokyo, Bangkok, Singapore and Colombia. On the Let’s Do It EP he demonstrates his experience and deep understanding of the dance floor with two original cuts that explore the funk and jazz roots of house music, accompanied by a sultry remix from PuzzleProjectsMusic artist FunkeeSounds.

The title track kicks off the EP, immersing us in a sea of funk immediately. Groovy guitar licks are peppered over a funkadelic b-line designed to get the head nodding and hips gyrating. Hotmood’s production utilises organic sounds to create a live band feel, trumpets joining the fray to boost the impact of the cut. Throughout there is constant progression, subtle shifts and changes, filters and a vintage vocal sample that takes the track to another level. 

Next up, ‘Saxy’, as the title suggests, incorporates a gorgeous saxophone to create a sensual atmosphere. Gentle piano keys add a jazzy sheen while the beats and bassline keep the track rolling smoothly. Again, the progression is key, as Hotmood takes us on an expedition into the realms of jazz, the sax especially providing a constantly engaging range of melodies. Expertly composed by the Mexican, with flourishes of energy delivered constantly from start to end.

Finally, FunkeeSounds steps up for a rework of the title track. His remix takes the track into nu-disco territory, retaining that infectiously funky low end, with punchy beats and a disco aesthetic that feels uplifting and optimistic. As with the other cuts on the EP, the arrangement never stagnates, always shifting and evolving, to create a piece of music that embodies that old school ethos of building a track from start to finish with careful consideration given to the impact of each layer.

A wonderful EP, aimed at the dancefloor, composed with contemporary production, and rooted in the songwriting structure of years gone by. It’s a winning combination and a testament to Hotmood and FunkeeSounds exemplary skills.

Welcome to the 19TH label release for @PuzzleProjectsMusic brought to us by Mexican 🇲🇽 producer @FernandoArceMusic.

@PuzzleProjectsMusic ups the ante as its 2021 campaign gets into full stride, with label head @BenSpaldingOfficial guiding the outlet to continued success. On this fresh new single, Mexican @FernandoArceMusic returns, establishing his position as one of the young members of the @PuzzleProjectsMusic family. Fernando joined the label as a relative unknown, his hunger, determination and natural talent shining through. 

Now three releases in, Fernando is contributing to the evolution of the label in his own way, his music feeding into the @PuzzleProjectsMusic ecosystem and shaping its sonic identity. 

‘Funky Beat’ is exactly as the title describes. This is groovy tech house designed to inject unbridled energy into the floor at any time of the night. Get ready to shake your body on the dance floor as the vocals encourage wanton self-expression and the beats send your body into an uncontrollably frenzy of rhythmic movement. Shuffling drums and crisp hi-hats underpin the groaning b-line. Meanwhile an array of subtle percussive elements keeps the energy flowing. Swirling pads and timely drum rolls boost the impact of this cut as Fernando’s use of vocal samples acts as aural encouragement throughout. Meanwhile the sleazy bassline and crisp beats are bound to get you moving. Watch out for the high-octane breakdown, it will get you pumped. 

Another dance floor killer from @FernandoArceMusic and @PuzzleProjectsMusic adds more artillery to its growing cabinet of club weaponry.
