Here's a new one from me. I've been asked about this one loads recently and it's actually a remix rather than an original production. I was asked by Nervous Records to pick a track from their back catalogue to remix, for their 25 year anniversary celebrations. Initially it was a daunting task considering how many iconic tracks they've released over the years. After a few days digging, I remembered this ambient interlude mix that Francois K did of Kim English back in '97, and I always loved the chords that come in towards the end. It's the first time I have done a remix of a remix, hope you enjoy!

‘White Punks on E’ is the taste of bike chains rubbing against black leather. Heavy cast iron forged across studs and hot-wired organs. The howls from blazed skull hordes jacked up to distortion engines broadcasting into neglected cellar units. 
It's shrill echoes from the parking lot carried along the financial district, overturning lobotomised business lunches, attache cases and $50 slick-backs. Nasty club rock fed through biohazard cassettes, doom arcades, sabres and scorpion tattoos - new blood to rock the neighbourhood and a pleasure to welcome Stratton into the fold.

Agents Of Time are proud to present ‘Ordinary Cosmic Dance’, the new EP on their own Obscura imprint. Over three tracks the Bari based trio brandish hypnotic, looping melodies in techno structures with subtle trance references. It arrives a year after the birth of the label, which has since issued music by Hiver, Amandra and The Hacker amongst others.

‘Ordinary Chaos’ builds low end frequencies juxtaposed with a stripped back melodic lead and staccato bass. ‘Cosmic Frequencies’ revolves around a syncopated synth line that swells its way through mesmeric percussion and entrancing pads. ‘Dance Impulse’ takes fragments of dub techno and remoulds them into a glitchy dancefloor workout.

Derek's music instantly takes the listener on a midnight drive, cruising the Grand River Avenue through Detroit. Derek Carr’s ability to create soulful melodies that effortlessly wrap themselves around bouncy basslines and elegant beats is not only classy – it’s classical. Derek Carr is not from the Detroit though.. he’s an Irishman through and through, born and bred in Westmeath, about 3400 miles from The State of Michigan. Yet he absolutely nails it! After two decades of crafting his own sound with analogue synths and samplers with the music culture of Motor City as an inspiration, Derek Carr doesn’t sound like anyone else. All the archetypical Detroit sounds are there – from the robotic bleeps in Binary Systems to the moody strings of Metro City – but Derek Carr uses them to create a primarily club oriented vibe, uplifting and positive.

The Artwork for this album is made by Abdul Haqq, the legendary visual artist responsible for a great number of classic covers for artists and labels such as Juan Atkins, Derrick May, Transmat, Drexciya, Carl Craig, Planet E and Underground Resistance...

By now you’d think we’d have heard more from Frankfurt’s LUZ1E considering the wealth of self-releases uploaded to her SoundCloud page (and other alias pages). Sure, some of them play more like ideas, but a majority of them are fleshed out tunes that show her innate talent for songcrafting.

After a strong initial public offering on UGONGETIT, LUZ1E side steps to the Lobster Theremin main label with a hard-hitting, drum machine focused EP of lush electro that traverses bpms and sonic realms. The title track, “4​/​5​/​20​/​18​/​15​/​9​/​20,” is a spacey, bass driven cut that features a warm wash of purifying synths. Nothing too complex here, just a solid groove and a meditative repetitiveness perfect for those intimate after-hour scenes. This is a track with the bare necessities, proof that complex sound design or OD instrumentation doesn’t necessarily equate to more effective club tracks. The rest of the EP plays out in similar fashion, save for a murky final track that doesn’t feel as lush as the rest of the project (not a bad thing).
