In this podcast we yarn with Aboriginal musician, businessman, and community worker Paul Ah Chee. Paul lives in Mparntwe Alice Springs in Central Australia. He writes and produces a unique brand of Australian Soul music that offers powerful messages about politics, community, Country, and culture. In this podcast Paul talks about the deep interactions between songwriters, performers, and audiences and the emotional intimacy that can emerge when our songs resonate with others’ experiences. From an early age, Paul felt a deep connection with the rhythms and languages of music and Country. He shares reflections on commercial music in Australia alongside traditional cultural and ceremonial music and healing. We get to hear some incredibly soulful music from Paul’s EP Nowhere to Hide in this podcast including some inside information on what inspired Paul to write key tracks on the EP.
