About DJ Deckard:
Born and bred in Washington, Keith Harris (a.k.a. Deckard) starting DJ-ing in 2000, at venues and clubs in Seattle and Canada. He moved to San Francisco in 2005 where his skills and talent evolved and became even more prolific, garnering interest and accolade and earning him a spot in the underground music scene.

Deckard made his big splash as a member of Coda in 2006 at Burning Man. Soon after he joined forces with the Space Cowboys whose parties are legendary in San Francisco and Burning Man and whose Ripecast podcast was nominated for Best Podcast of the Year by Breakspoll for 2013.

Mixing together a blend of music selection including, but certainly not limited to breakbeat, nu funk, and house, Deckard keeps crowds on their feet and moving backed by his unique sound and ability to mix genres whether it be playing a sunrise set at Breakfast of Champions or closing down the main room in front of a packed warehouse.

Deckard has performed in a variety of venues on the west coast and Canada with DJs such as Jondi & Spesh, Uberzone, Lee Coombs, Plump DJs, Dylan Rhymes, Meat Katie, Elite Force/Simon Shackleton, Worthy and more.

Sunset and Rainbows in your kiss as you return to camp; you just finished working so hard like a soldier. Oh! But! Ethan Miller is on the mic for opening ceremony! Good music starts! You rock down to electric avenue to find your friends! You soon get distracted by the chosen two frogs in socks performing in the metro area... No, Wait, What?!... As you run, no, as I ran between moments of enthusiasm and moments of obsession. Afterall, you can only ran past tense, someone wise told you that once... Where did the time go? Were you in control? Fuck that then, we're on a raw mission to lost and found through acid neverland, or was this just a plastic dream? It feels like you've been wandering all day, but then you take a shy look at the lights. Omg, the lights!!! Could heaven ever be like this? 

We got your friendly vibes, chopped up vocals, feelings of badassery, swampy breaks, flirts with trance, happy peaks, dark troughs, deep mixes, and happy little accidents throughout your journey. Ok, you're the DJ(s)...8:45am...the morning sun is shining, and a field of friends and family are reveling in the afterglow of a three hour dawn set by Thugfucker.  What do you play?  How do you follow that?  These are questions Dao & I were honored and privileged to answer more than hypothetically at the FnF summer campout 2012, only a few days ago.  We are proud to have spent  time and energy crafting this set.  (This is a re-creation, polished and pretty for you ;)  We wore kimonos.  We had a blast. This set was inspired by my first return visit to my roots town of Asheville, NC in 20 years. A town where you can still find a speakeasy where they roll up the rug on the dancefloor and you can dance barefoot all night to a Ragtime or Western Swing band while the bartender mixes you pipe smoke Old Fashioneds. The town that provided my musical roots, before I ever knew that electronic music existed. Here's to you, Asheville. California may have my heart, but you still have my soul.

Feather River Virtual Campout (Extended) 2020

Welcome to my SoundCloud page, how nice of you to stop in! 

I was born and raised in the San Francisco bay area and feel lucky to be residing in SF in an especially lush and fertile environment for electronic music culture at this moment. Lately I've been mixing deep house, tech house, minimal..... but as always, tracks are whatever I find atmospheric, well produced, and/or have a certain vibe/groove.  When I hear a track for the first time, my jaw hits the floor and I yell "WTF is THIS?!?" ...that's the track I want to play, all of the time! :-D

In 2003 I started playing vinyl with the intention of mixing and DJing.   I switched to CDJs in 2010 -  vowing never to travel to the desert with records again - which was becoming a yearly phenomenon.              
As much as I was loathe to abandon the vinyl format, the realization that vinyl is not environmentally sustainable, that I would be able to collect more music, and support more artists by moving to digital solidified my conviction.  

I always ID tracks on my mixes I post to the best of my ability, and take care to keep notes during any session - whether it's in the bedroom or playing out live - for the purpose of crediting artists and passing on the enjoyment of great music to the listener.  I hope you enjoy some of the music that moves me.   And, please, please support the artists we love by purchasing their tracks!  :)

You will find several tracks repeated in the mixes I post, which is unorthodox. I broadcast a live DJ set most Tuesday mornings ( Brunch With Pwny on www.mixlr.com/pwny ) and gig actively. I have tracks that survive the test of time and when it's the right time to use an older track, I will do so. Most mixes I post now are recordings of the live broadcast or of a gig.
