I've been really unsure of what kind of reactions I will get with the styles of music I've been making lately. Which can be a little demotivating, but this is really the song I'm most proud of so far. I think this is a big leap in the quality of my music, and Sophia just makes it all a million times better.

Before 2017 started I kind of set a goal for myself to release a new track each month of the year. I'm very happy that I realized that goal and I'm really proud of every one of those tracks. 
My music isn't quite at the level of quality I want it to be in, but the improvement is definitely there. You can easily tell that I love to experiment with every style and genre, which isn't always the best for getting your music out there. I get wobbly reactions and sometimes it feels that I've surrounded myself with the wrong community. But my goal for 2018 is to not let any of that affect my music. I want to take my time and keep making whatever I love. The contrast between my previous track (Like Someone) and this one is the best example of that.

Happy pi day! I assume this is an appropriate way to end the almost 1 year hiatus, whose causes I am still unsure of. But I definitely took the time to reflect and think about this whole music thing. Long story short: yup, I still fucking love it. :)

I came across Riha by complete chance on reddit and was very surprised by how underrated she is, had a lot of fun working with her on this song and I'm super happy with how it turned out!
Inspired by many songs and artists I wanted to try combine a kinda vintage feel with big vocal chops, it sounded really promising but I felt that it needed some vocals to bring everything together. This is my first released song where I got to write the lyrics, but Riha came up with that absolutely fantastic vocal melody, which completely blew me away when I first heard it.

⚠️The Song:
I don't know what it was that pushed me, but I finally decided to give it a shot. For years now I've been dreaming of being able to use my voice in my music, but I had always convinced myself that I can't sing and that I will never be able to sing. But now... well I still think that's true, but singing is way too fun so I did it anyway :P

In all seriousness, I do think there is a lot I can improve on and I will, because I think vocals are absolutely the best instrument a producer could have, not only are they the best way to express yourself, add an atmosphere and a mood to a song, but more importantly they are pretty much the most useful tool when it comes to writing music. I can never run out of ideas if I'm thinking about vocals, and building tracks around them. And like all instruments, practice is key, and I will practice the hell out of this one.

⚠️The Music:
But enough about the vocals, the instrumental of this song is honestly just as special to me, that drop melody sort of just wrote itself when I was desperately trying to come up with a background arp for the buildup, and it's pretty much my favorite drop I've done so far. I love the absolute POWER and energy it has, while still carrying a lot of emotion through the progression with it as well.

⚠️The Video:
And last but not least, the YouTube video, yes it deserves its wall of text too. lol.
Literally took me more than twice the time it took to make the song itself, which is not that wild when you consider the fact that I had to code my own rendering software to essentially display video using html-compatible colored text instead of pixels. I'm very happy with the result of that effect though. Try watching it zoomed out or on a small screen and it totally looks like an actual video. It was a super fun project and definitely worth the effort, but I'm not sure how I can top this one, can I just keep reusing it? haha
