Throwing Snow & Py - Wallow

London based migrant Throwing Snow makes tracks to melt into. Following his compelling 2010 debut on Alexander Nut’s Ho_Tep imprint and remixes for the likes of Gold Panda and Glasser he returns to Super with emerging vocal talent Py.

Wallow is at the same time sultry, shadowy and glistening. Throwing Snow displays effortless finesse as Py’s raw, soulful delivery adds emotion. Py is joined by the captivating Russell Morgan on The Shadows I Make, an affecting arrangement built around the pairs’ contrasting vocal styles whilst As The Rain Spits sees Py’s vocal chopped and screwed for a proper drum machine workout.

The release is completed by remixes from Lapalux, PhOtOmachine and Raffertie. Lapalux is in full effect, his beat collage blurring the line between digital precision and analogue warmth. Brixton based PhOtOmachine blends subtle elements of the original into a bumping house version as label head Raffertie brings Py’s vocal to the fore, illuminating her enchanting performance.

After releasing her astounding mixtape ‘Tripping On Wisdom’ which featured collaborations with the likes of George Fitzgerald, Throwing Snow, Breton and Raffertie last year, Py returns with the long-awaited follow up, ‘Polyethers’, produced by Maths Time Joy and released via Champion Records on 30th June. 

A song about being so in tune with someone you love you ride the same emotional cycle together through romance and nostalgia via the testing times, ‘Polyethers’ marks the next natural musical step for Py. Showcasing her vocal depth and tone, ‘Polyethers’ is an epic love song, complete with soul-tinged harmonies; both emotionally grand and understated in all its bittersweet subtleties. 

Fresh from his groundbreaking Jamie Lidell remix, from Berlin based DJ/ Producer Jimmy Edgar (Warp/!k7/Hotflush) on the flip, Py has effortlessly managed to retain her contemporary electronic sound and clear artistic vision, rooted deep through ‘Tripping On Wisdom’, whilst simultaneously showcasing her impressively versatile, pop-spattered voice. 

Since completing a debut headline UK tour late last year as well as support for the likes of Fenech Soler on their the recent sold-out tour, Py has developed a full live show in the past few months. 

With support as diverse as Radio 1’s Rob Da Bank, Mixmag, Dazed & Confused, FACT and The Guardian and with further releases to drop on Champion, as well as forthcoming live dates and collaborations with Supreme Cuts through the latter half of 2013, Py is one artist set to stick around for a long time yet. ‘Py shows massive promise’ – Q Magazine

After releasing her astounding mixtape ‘Tripping On Wisdom’ which featured collaborations with the likes of George Fitzgerald, Throwing Snow, Breton and Raffertie last year, Py returns with the long-awaited follow up, ‘Polyethers’, produced by Maths Time Joy and released via Champion Records on 30th June.

A song about being so in tune with someone you love you ride the same emotional cycle together through romance and nostalgia via the testing times, ‘Polyethers’ marks the next natural musical step for Py. Showcasing her vocal depth and tone, ‘Polyethers’ is an epic love song, complete with soul-tinged harmonies; both emotionally grand and understated in all its bittersweet subtleties.

Fresh from his groundbreaking Jamie Lidell remix, from Berlin based DJ/ Producer Jimmy Edgar (Warp/!k7/Hotflush) on the flip, Py has effortlessly managed to retain her contemporary electronic sound and clear artistic vision, rooted deep through ‘Tripping On Wisdom’, whilst simultaneously showcasing her impressively versatile, pop-spattered voice.

Since completing a debut headline UK tour late last year as well as support for the likes of Fenech Soler on their the recent sold-out tour, Py has developed a full live show in the past few months.

With support as diverse as Radio 1’s Rob Da Bank, Mixmag, Dazed & Confused, FACT and The Guardian and with further releases to drop on Champion, as well as forthcoming live dates and collaborations with Supreme Cuts through the latter half of 2013, Py is one artist set to stick around for a long time yet. Make sure you also watch out for her Red Bull Introducing session set to drop in late May.
