Some notes on this song and album...

This album is based on a story about a boy traveling to an island. 

Leading up to this song, his heart is full of excitement and adventure. He builds a boat, meets a whale, and feels proud of himself for finding what he set out to.

This song comes into the story after some reflection. Our boy is lonely and tired. He misses his family & friends, and is unsure if he will ever make it home. 

This dreamland is a beautiful place... but the boy cannot see past his emotions.

Welcome to Rainy Day Breaks by Sound Designer & Producer-  Erik Jackson.

Rainy Day Breaks is a collection of drums you can use to liven up your song or create something totally different. Before Erik dismantled the Sunday Kit we retuned the drums and recorded these breaks. These are not your everyday drum breaks. They were recorded with complete precision and accuracy, changing from full to double tempo. All recorded at 90/180 BPM. There are not many breaks pack like this. Get your hands on a Breakbeat Gem and get to work!

Rainy Day Breaks were recorded with the Audix DP7 drum microphone pack. Each microphone was individually shaped and compressed by 9 separate Avalon 737 Pre Amps. If that is wasn't enough; all of the Avalon pre's were fed to an SSL Stereo Bus Compressor, then recorded to a Studer A 827.

Be prepared to chop in your favorite sampler and make some hits. Again, this is a BREAKS ONLY pack.

The demo song has other instruments to show you how great these will sound with your own samples. Demo was made with an MPC 2000X, Ableton Live and a turntable in real time.

Coming to us from Birmingham, England – just north of London,19 year old ROM who has been producing and playing guitar since he was 9, delivers 3 distinct tracks for the 18th installation of our White Label Series.

Inspired by late 90s and early 2000s RnB and jazz, ROM’s diverse production style he calls “ROMderful” also pulls from orchestral music, nature, and for this project he tells us “mainly happiness and good vibes”.

Laced with heavy bass, an uptempo sensibility and wavy chord progressions, ROM brings in singer Emmavie and producer DEFFIE to add their complimentary sounds to this already bubbling White Label installation.
