Vril is still a relatively little known artist but already he has some great accolades to his name: He has released a couple of great EPs on Giegling sub label Staub, had a track on Marcel Fengler's Berghain mix, Dettmann's Conducted and now appears with the 103rd release on Delsin. What he serves up is three titanic techno tracks designed with maximum dancefloor damage in mind.

So big are these productions that we got a message back from that well known mastering company in germany. For some mystified causes some of our expensive equipment was crashing during the mastering session (!). They’ve been mastering records since over 20 years and that has never happened before like this.

The Vortekz EP starts with the title track and it's a dramatic bit of big room techno with nerve gangling chords and plenty of sonic grit. The dub version is slower and more purposeful and is buried in a much wider, deeper groove that snakes more than stomps. Finally comes 'y7/10', which rocks back and forth in the same rusted loop as percussion flutters like tin foil in a stormy wind. The track flows an ever-higher arc of tension that eventually erupts into a sea of analogue fuzz and hiccupping techno beats.

Over the past 6 years WOLF Music have earned their stripes as stalwart purveyors of refined House and Disco. Now, in the follow up to Medlar and Greymatter’s debut LPs and EPs from the likes of Ishmael, Ossie and Casino Times they ready their 3rd LP from Dutchman Frits Wentink.

Now residing in Amsterdam, Frits has a glowing back catalogue of soulful, Lo Fi club material that’s touched Heist Recordings as well as WOLF in the form of his ‘Mouse’ and ‘Goose’ EPs. With an experimental approach to hardware and instrumentation, his work blooms naturally through jams and improv and in this - his debut LP: ‘Rarely Pure, Never Simple’ we see a development in this experimentation to enlivening effect.

Working with a meld of grubby samples, chunky percussion and the frequent vocal accompaniment of Utrecht based Loes Jongerling, Rarely Pure Never Simple is a journey through Frits’ influences forged into a cohesive pack of grooves and interludes tinged with a certain charming nostalgia.

As it does from time to time, Delsin is focussing on a re-issue project in May: in line for a return to the spotlight is My Home is Sonic, a standout techno, dub and minimal album by Exos originally released in 2001 by Icelandic producer Arnvidur Snorrason aka Exos.

Exos is the son of dub techno producer Octal and released three albums in his career, as well as a swathe of fine EPs on labels like Thule, Mosaic, Slow to Speak and many others. His ability to build great atmospheres and heady soundscapes was unrivalled, and though they bottle up influences, they are always fresh, wintry and compelling. The re-issued album will be presented as a CD and LP and is due for release in May.

We are proud to announce our latest instalment that comes from lost 1990's tapes of an underground Estonian production group, Hüpnosaurus. 

Side A opens with 'Muru', a simple ballad with its stripped kicks and funky string bass that gradually reach a lo-fi acidic house condition with psychedelic swirls appearing every now and then. Bookworms provide this first track a remix treatment with thick, multi-layered overdriven madness looped over a six-minute run that strips the original to a simple bassline and occasional industrial stabs.

On side B, 'Always In N' Out' starts out as unorthodox blend of a classic techno kick and speed garage percussion, but after a long building spacey pad breaks into a classic filtered house tune with transposed chords and cut-up vocals that runs until the end of the track, filtering in and out before powerful drops.

Finally, the last title track demonstrates exactly the kind of music that we call Wicked Bass, with it's heavy stomping kicks, swinging hats, familiar psychedelic whirls and a trippy, crushed vocal sample appearing out of nowhere questioning: 'Where Am I?', as if all of this madness is reminiscent of a bad trip at Berghain.
