The sixteenth chapter in World Canvas’ mix series comes from Copenhagen-based experimental artist and composer Xenia Xamanek. Having released under prolific Danish imprints such as Anyines and OUMPHFF, Xamanek has crafted an adventurous approach to composition and songwriting. 
On their mix for World Canvas, Xamanek presents songs from various different fields ranging from experimental hiphop to dembow-inspired rhythmical explorations.

She is exploring queer femxle-identified narratives and deprogramming patriarchal structures by enlisting femme aesthetics to do a labor of it. Polish DJ and producer, whose sounds are driven by examination of frequencies and vibrations, and their capacity of altering the states of being, followed by the belief that music originated from healing rituals.

AKAFAE was born into the club scene when DJ Headwound rescued her from the jaws of a live tiger at a Seattle, Washington punk house. After nursing her back to health with homegrown deadmau5 and Tiesto mixes, the duo joined an ashram. Headwound became the yang of dark techno, and AKAFAE embodied the yin, becoming one with the ways of trance, jungle, nightcore, and all music which induces euphoria. She now travels around the United States (and hopefully, the world) uplifting humanity through her work as a producer and DJ. She is currently aligned with the city of New York, where she can be found resting after her many travels.
