I am afraid I cannot abide a voice. I realise that some folk like it but it is not for me.

I'd fall asleep to this one, I bet. Xanadu, bring it on though if it were added to the app I'd like choice to turn off the cavernous sound. Can't quite hear the fire on PC, but it's daytime and I'm working. I still like the "old" voice on app very much.

I love that the newest dreamscapes include nature tracks (rain & fire). I absolutely love listening to rain at bed. The ability to toggle it in to any Pzizz dreamscape would be delightful, especially multiple choices of rain, fire ect... I end up using other sleep apps to accomplish just that every single night, usually allowing Pzizz to fade out and leaving the rain running all night. Slightly off topic, however, how great would it be to have a new voiceover done by the original person who did the classic? Even better a new voiceover by the original guy and a new composition by the original composer done in the spirit of the classic with all the amazing drones, binaurals, chimes and the other AMAZING and MAGICAL sounds he created. Nothing against the new dreamscapes but the original Pzizz sound scheme, is in my opinion, genius. It's utterly amazing and I have never heard anything else like it in my life period.

Love the nature sounds, and love fire crackling, it's so soothing. The piano sounds a bit hollow/reverb-y for me, the fire sounds like it's crackling in a big hollow cave, and not super keen on this guy's voice. He's a bit airy sounding.

Love the fire crackling, that is a great idea for a dreamscape! For me, the accompanying sound of a piano is a bit too harsh though, too loud. The male voice, sorry to say, I do not like. A sleep guiding voice, for me, has to be clear in tone and message, soothing without trying too hard. The voice used is too husky and changes too much and with that sort of tries to push you to relax, but having the opposite effect.

I find myself unconsciously trying to make out the words he is saying rather than him drifting away or becoming part of the whole like usual. Typically I'm either fully hearing the man or it is background noise. This guy is like Simlish I can't ignore.

I'm going to have to pause now because I'm trying to fall asleep at my computer. It must be effective. :D

I like the rain and fire crackle. The piano is an interesting mainstream sounding take on what I've come to expect of Pzizz - which is more synthesized sounds.  Would like an alternate version some of the trippy usual sound effects worked into it instead of the piano.

I like it.  I find it very soothing and relaxing and have been listening to it for 10 nights now.

The piano seems to be out of tune, especially the bass notes. As a musician, I couldn't relax if I had to hear the same motif over and over. The piano volume is also louder than I would like, heavy-handed, and at times jarring both in volume and dissonance. When the sound is lighter, either high octaves or more muted, it's nice. But it could be 25% softer.

"'Inwardness' was composed and recorded this winter while I traveled through northern California visiting family. The title comes from my father’s playful name for the town he lives in. The pun is accurate though, as my time spent in the rainy woods did indeed inspire a thoughtful and reflective peace and calm. To start things off, I recorded my father playing an old traditional folk song on acoustic guitar - I then slowed down the recording significantly, selecting various passages and moments that suited the different sections that constitute a dreamscape. I then recorded some wind chimes, recorder, organ, electric guitar, and synthesizers to accent the mood with texture and gesture. All this was set against a quite magical recording of rain in the woods that, to me, exemplifies the notion of being inward: it is intimate and vast simultaneously. We hope that these elements will guide you towards a calming and reflective rest."

"'Fireside' is an exciting exploration for us. In this dreamscape, we wanted to create a simple and realistic auditory scenario to relax in and drift off to sleep. And what is more comfy than being curled up near a fireplace, with a friend or family member softly playing piano to accompany the crackles of the fire? While the audio is adjusted to become progressively ’dreamier’ as the sequences unfold, this dream scape is wonderfully simple: a fireplace and a piano, positioned in the stereo field so as to sound like you are in the room with them as the calming sounds of both help you fall asleep."

"Another piece engaging with a vast environment, this dreamscape imagines the listener in a desert oasis as the sun recedes behind an oscillating horizon of dunes and sparse vegetation. Wind swirls by softly, and crickets chirp playfully in the distance. Using several flutes and reed instruments, harp, harmonium drones, synthesizers, and softly-played percussion, the music accompanies the environment as if a group of musicians was serenading the sunset – and you – as the world falls to a hushed sleep."

"Imagining the listener on a beach in tropical climate, this segment is a serenade with a simple lulling arrangement. Using binaural recordings of waves and ambient tropical wildlife murmuring softly in the background, this dreamscape provides an enveloping soundstage for the accompanying music: ukuleles strum and pluck contemplatively, an accordion phases like passing clouds, flutes and a celeste sing with the wind, and an mbira outlines dreamy phrases.

Utilizing much of our research, this piece does some exciting things: its tempo slows intermittently - including the tempo/repetition of the waves, encouraging a concurrent relaxation of breath and heart rate; and there is subtle frequency modulation throughout, creating a dynamic and detailed soundscape that breathes in a gradually decreasing pace, guiding the listener into a state best suited for successful rest."

"Using field recordings from a northern California pond at sundown as the setting - frogs chattering, wind rustling, and the occasional rippling tide, we expanded on the initial theme with the piano, a lullaby composed by an old friend. We then added a choral arrangement, and soft bells to round off the distant pace. As the piece progresses, it's tempo decreases incrementally: starting at 65 beats per minute (bpm), and gradually arriving at 48bpm, an optimal rate to synchronize breathing and heart rate for deep sleep. To improve these sleep-inducing conditions further, a .8Hz binaural beat fades into play, warming up the sonic landscape and settling the scene into a calm hazy unconsciousness."

"Saturn Set imagines the listener in a space voyager, gliding among Saturn's rings as the sun fades. 

We did several fun things with small snippets of audio recordings from the Cassini space mission. First, we took some of the more pleasant moments - keep in mind most of these space recordings sound like a mix between a white noise avalanche and a microwave dance party - and developed a soothing soundscape. After that we took tonal elements of the recordings, and fed them into a sampler, creating a keyboard-like instrument out of the actual sounds of Saturn. We then fleshed the music out with some classic Casio keyboard string harmonies, and an epic organ for the morphing ostinato movement in the lower register to compliment the synthesizer drones. 

The piece also uses an important psychoacoustic technique: slowing down incrementally in the early sections, such that by several minutes in, the music has lulled to a tempo corresponding to a healthy resting heart rate for sleep."
