There are 400 Sumatran tigers left in the wild. To gain awareness of this dying species, The Smithsonian Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute have collaborated with Portugal. The Man to produce "Sumatran Tiger", The Endangered Song, of which only 400 limited edition vinyl copies exist. The special polycarbonate records are custom-made to stop working after a certain amount of spins — effectively making it the first song to become extinct unless it’s reproduced and shared. Q Department is helping in the effort by sharing a digitized edition to download, share, and prevent from becoming extinct.
