DJ Q kicks off his ‘Q Recordings’ imprint with 2 lively rhythms courtesy of Brighton based ‘PVC’. Due for release on the 27th January, ‘She Can Get It’ / ‘You Know My Man’ is a boisterous blend of Garage, 2­Step, U.K Bass and Grime.

She Can Get It opens up with winding sirens sitting atop reverberated vocal chops and hurried, technical percussion. A resistless rise gives way to a gamboling bass­line crafted to ricochet around a brimful dance floor. PVC uses choked hats, percussive stutters and vocal refrains evincing a knack for maintaining intensity throughout.

You Know My Man leaves the blocks a little slower, steadily unfolding through staggered kick patterns and granular synth sweeps. Vocal chops ring through a drop into synth­swapping bass patterns and Garage clap patterns. Intricate and playful rhythms run throughout keeping things pinned to the dance floor until the close.

Having had support from the likes of DJ Marcus Nasty, Barely Legal, Rossi B & Luca, Moony, Flava D and Construct to name a few and with imperious production on show, PVC paves an auspicious path and sets the tone for Q’s rousing new project.

DJ Q’s ‘Q Recordings’ imprint aims to exhibit auspicious artists across the gamut of U.K Bass music. 

Following the success the inaugural release from PVC that gained support from the likes of Todd Edwards, Roska, Sinden and My Nu Leng ­ the next instalment comes from West Midlands based Arun Verone and is a brash and effective set of bottom-­heavy House and Garage grooves. 

Arun follows up releases on House Entertainment and Inner City Records through which he’s become revered for his consistency and work ethic. He kicks off with ‘This Is It (Get It Together)’ driving a marching kick below reverberated claps and playful vocal chops while using the VIP to dim the lights slightly. 

‘The Coming (Keep It Coming)’ brings lively vocal snippets, galloping hats and string stabs into a tightly swung Garage rhythm while ‘Short From Change’ drives a heaving sub under a hurried hats and staggered snare patterns. 

This Is It (Get It Together) marks definite headway for Arun Verone who will be road testing these tools during forthcoming gigs across the U.K and in Ibiza.

DJ Q aims to create a platform for auspicious artists from across a broad spectrum of U.K Bass music through his own imprint ‘Q Recordings’. Focusing in particular on U.K Garage and hook­lead House music, Q’s previous releases have come courtesy of Arun Verone and PVC.
With support across both releases from the likes of Rob Da Bank, Todd Edwards, Roska, Sinden and My Nu Leng, the project continues to develop and gather steam.
Next up is the collaborative combination of Francios, Louis Benton and Mr Limey who cling to Q’s remit like a glove in delivering ‘Menajatrois’ ­ a boisterous combination of scattered garage skips, infectious vocals and billowing bass stabs.
Also included in the package is a remix from Q himself who’s slightly darker on the original plots a creeping bass pattern under pinned percussion and subtly warped, reverberated vocals while label compadre Bad Habit steps in with a pop­garage revision that places darting melodies alongside chorus­lead vocals and shuffling percussive lines.
Bolstered by this third release and looking ahead to a compilation album which will included Q himself alongside more promising talent, progress shows no sign of slowing for Q Recordings.
