"It’s a sonic journey that begins on the dark morning of February 24th, 2022 — the day everything changed. It starts with the sound of explosions, silence, fear, and disbelief. Those first explosions are sampled from old vinyl records, recorded back in the Soviet era — the same era that produced most of the bombs raining down on us at the beginning of the invasion. The rhythms grow heavier, mirroring the weight of loss, destruction, and the endless toll of war.

But within the chaos, there is a pulse — of defiance, of resistance, of an unbroken spirit. As the mix unfolds, grief transforms into grit. And though death still walks beside us, so does hope.

Recorded live at fabric's 25th birthday, their RA.999 captures that feeling perfectly. High-tempo, irresistibly groovy and full of quiet authority, it marks a return to the series for both: Moonear with RA.520, and Dygas with the fourth-ever RA Podcast all the way back in 2006.

They also gave rare interviews, reflecting on a deep musical connection that began in 2007, the legacy of minimal and lessons from a life spent in DJ booths the world over. 

"I felt excited and lucky to be invited so early in what I now see as a much longer journey," wrote Dygas. "Music holds memories in its frequencies, and the right track can transport you instantly to a past version of yourself. That’s powerful. That’s the kind of power I respect." Amen.

“Very excited to share this recording with the world. When planning this set the idea for me was to focus on archival dubs from the early years of Dubstep/pre-Dubstep (2001-2006) that have yet still to see a release. These are many of the same tunes you could’ve likely heard at a FWD night in these years. In keeping with the progressive spirit of FWD though, I didn’t want it to be solely retrospective — so along with the classic archival tunes I mixed in contemporary productions from myself and a few other newer artists — tracing some of the threads linking past, present, and future.
