Qbical - Deep Down

Uplifting summer sounds here with the latest on Magnitude Recordings by Ultraverse. Both the title track 'My Universe' as well as 'Vintage' have got that distinctive sunshine feel with it's warm chords and sexy basslines. Qbical adds a bit of uplifting summer melancholia with the sole interpretation on the EP. Quality feel good pack!

QuiQui is blowing us all away with his brand new single 'Transmutate'. Deep, raw and hypnotic are the right words to describe this massive techno track! It's one of these bombs we would see a guy like Digweed drop at the peak moment of his longer sets. Absolutely mental this one!

First up on remix duties is Qbical who has crafted two versions; a shorter electronica interpretation and a full on polyphonic fueled club mix.

Finally the progressive house lovers are thought of as well with Argentinian artist Soulmade's lovely rolling rework.

A super versatile EP here, with surely something to play and love for everybody. Let's transmutate!

Being able to create and release music is a beautiful privilege to have. Keeping an eagle-eyed focus on the socials, the charts, and the artist dashboards to see how a release is doing can be highly energizing. However, I found over the last couple of months that it can also create a negative form of pressure. Even though I told myself not to let myself be influenced by the numbers, I still try to make the next release better than the last one. To get more streams, more chart positions, more views. 
It doesn’t help that my social feed is filled with all these “get a million streams on Spotify” videos ;)

Anyway, it is the single reason I failed my promise to release a track every month of the year. I keep falling into a second-guessing mode that stops me from completing a song. Stupid, and I am stopping it right now!

So, I wrote a little song about it!

Under Pressure is a driving melodic techno track with the quirky synth parts you have come to expect from me. The vocal provides a bit of meaning to the matter above. What I take away from it is that there really is ‘no more time’ to second-guess oneself. Just get on with it. Let your creativity flow, and don’t mind the numbers. In the end, it’s an art form, and art can’t be quantified.
